Metal Slug XX on PSP next month

Sorry PSPGo fans, it's only on UMD
Metal Slug: Double X (XX, Double XX) is coming to PSP this Fenruary but not all PSPs...

While box art for the title clearly shows a PSN Network, suggesting it can be downloaded and slapped on your nice, new PSP Go, this is far from the case.

In fact Double X will only be compatible with the PSP-1000 through 3000 series as Atlus told Joystiq that the publisher has no plans to release a downloadable version on the PlayStation Store (even though a digital copy of Metal Slug Anthology is available).

For all non-PSP Go types, the game launches in the US on February 23, exclusive to UMD.

Actually no; I will however comment on what I see as a classic showcase of a problematic business decision by Sony to release a supposedly superior version of a gaming machine which doesn't support the most established method of game distribution storage at present time.

Metal Slug is outstanding.

Sadly, Metal Slug 7 (which is what this is) isn't outstanding.
