This pre-order stuff is getting way out of hand, IMO. This isn't the first time I've stated that yet I suspect this won't be the last time either as the pace, size and impact of pre-order bonuses continually increases.
I pre-order a number of things but I still oppose granting actual in-game altering items or attributes, etc. to people whom pre-order. Fancy cloth maps, DLC content included in the RRP (thus better value for money), the game's soundtrack, a figurine, a t-shirt, a bigger discount on the asking price - all of these things are heartily welcomed on my end as it still rewards those who pre-order without doing what essentially amounts to punishing those customers whom decide to wait until the official release for a variety of reasons. It can range from wanting to read a few reviews first (some of which are delayed by NDAs until the actual release day,) to someone perhaps not having the money ready until the actual release day. |
