About the Starlations Scanlation Team

Since you're reading this you're wanting to know who we are and what we do right? Well basically like the title of the group states we are a scanlation team. Our only series is Digimon NEXT although i do scans for other series' for other scanlation groups.

Scanlating involves A LOT of time and hard work changing Japanese Manga (in our case) to English wording via the below stages:

1) Raw Scanning
The Scanning of the Manga by me from V-Jump each month ready for translation.

2) Translation
Having the Manga translated from Japanese to English

3) Resize, Level and Clean.
As the pages are rather big we resize them to 1100 x 750 to make it look better.
Levelling is making sure all the Black and White images are pure (so no horrible dirt that makes it look irk)
Cleaning is removing the Japanese text from bubbles ready for 4.
Also at this stage we get help for Double Pages as that is the only thing we have "redrawn"

4) Adding Text
Once 3 is complete English wording is started to be input to the pages using a variety of fonts. This sometimes requires additional skills for irksome areas where the text is over a pic and not in a bubble not all that difficult once you get used to it!

5) QC
QC is Quality Checking, where our QC Team check for spelling errors, TRY to get me to change some wording (doesn't always work), find every darn last spot of dirt, basically checking everything in stages 3+4 have been done right). More often than not there are 3 QCs per chapter before we can then finally move on to...

6) Release
When everything is mighty fine and all errors fixed it is released out for the public to download. Editors then go phew and hope nothing is picked up! If it is and something major (after ticking off QCers for not finding it) the editor has to make the changes and a V2 is released.

And that is basically what we do - as stated it just takes time! Feel free to email any questions you have about the team to me.
