Sega closes Iron Man studio

San Francisco developer shuttered by publisher
Sega has closed its San Francisco studio - the creator of its upcoming Iron Man 2 game.

According to Industry Gamers, a Sega spokesperson said:

"Sega of America is sad to announce the closure of Sega Studios San Francisco. It is an immensely talented studio and we wish all the best to all of the staff in all their future endeavors.

"Moving forward, Sega will continue to pursue external development opportunities all over the world and will continue to grow the renowned Sega brand."

Sega Studios San Francisco was responsible for the Iron Man movie game and Golden Axe: Beast Rider.

IndustryGamers reports that development of the Iron Man 2 game - due out on April 30 - concluded before Sega closed the studio.

So I take it that this is Secret Level or what ever they are called? No big loss then.

Not much of a loss if the games the studio produced were rubbish.
