A new military FPS is set to hit PC and Xbox 360 in June - with realism at its heart.
City Interactive's Sniper Ghost Warrior (unsurprisingly) concentrates on sniper missions.
The title's set on the fictitious South American island of Isla Trueno, where a despotic military regime lead by the ruthless General Vasquez has overthrown its democratic government to seize control.
Gamers play one of a group of covert commandos, charged with infiltrating the rebel stronghold and overthrowing the unelected powerbase.
Its makers boast of a 'truly realistic ballistic system that accounts for the distance of a shot, fall-off of the bullet's trajectory, and environmental factors, such as wind direction'.
The game is set in lush jungle environments, and allow the user to use the cover of the foliage to take out key targets, while other members of your squad can act as 'spotters' to detail the positions of foes.
Players must also manage the breathing of their sniper to provide a more accurate shot, while the game's 'Bullet Cam' system offers close-ups.
The mission spans 16 stages, moving onto oilrigs, a mine, the coast, and a set of ruins.
The sniper elements are mixed with more action-packed firefights, as the enemy break cover and the squad is forced to engage in open combat.
The game also includes a series of multi-player modes, wherein up to 16 players can compete simultaneously.
I've never even heard of this game... well wait I have now... looks nice enough but I think I'd get super bored sniping. I've had functioning legs in every FPS I've ever played and I plan on the continuing use of them.
This is something im interested in. Been waiting for a decent sniper game since Sniper Elite. Good game but the tech wasn't up to it. This on the other hand might be able to pull it off.
The idea of having a team with you also sounds good as it will hopefully include a few coverfire missions, diversions etc.
Hold up!...someones developing a FPS? This is something new, there's not enough of this genre in this gen this will be a whole new experience.........oh erm wait
