Ten years ago, Sampson and Yushima were officials working for the government. A
mysterious growth in the number of missing people was on a quick and steep rise with no evidence or clues being left behind.
Sampson and Yushima were both assigned to the numerous cases and entrusted with the job of finding the source of this mass
dissapearance.
Meanwhile, the Crier family- researchers of digital phenomenon- were experimenting in their basement when all of a sudden
their infant child, Keenan, was abducted by a Digital Gate that had opened. Sampson and Yushima got word of this and concluded
the same must have happened to the others who had disappeared.
Sampson, Yushima, Mr. Crier, and Mrs. Crier met with Spencer Damon and Kurata, other researchers at the time, to begin an
exploration team to the Digital World in order to find Keenan and possibly the other people. They planned their strange
adventure and entered the Digital World. Once in the Digital World, Keenan's bassinet and his
toy were all that could be found of him.
Keenan had been discovered by Frigimon. She saw this abandoned human and soon grew attached
to him. Merukimon, guardian of the forested area, got word of Frigimon's discovery. He ordered her to give
the infant up, but Frigimon told Merukimon that she would have to disobey his orders. Merukimon senses the bond that the
two had made and decides maybe it's best to leave them be. Frigimon ended up raising Keenan as if he were her own child.
Frigimon also mentored Falcomon, and him and Keenan grew up as brothers.
Meanwhile, the exploration team made its way through the Digital World. Most of the team were enjoying and respecting their
surroundings- all of them except for Kurata. This heartless man was afraid of the creatures that they encountered and began
shooting at everything that moved. The Digimon saw this and soon began to become fearful of the humans as well.
The team soon encountered SaberLeomon- a Digimon who held a lot of hatred towards the humans. Kurata deployed a device that
opened up a Digital Gate back to the real world. Spencer defended the team from SaberLeomon, making sure he didn't follow them
back to the real world. It was then that Digimon Natural Ability ("DNA") was discovered. The moment Spencer punched SaberLeomon, his DNA
appeared in his fist, and soon his whole body glowed. SaberLeomon fled, but Merukimon appeared. The two are soon fist to fist with Spencer's DNA protecting him from
the almost god-status Digimon.
Merukimon asks the man why he was invading his world and Spencer tells Merukimon that it's of a man's need to explore. Not
only that, he says, but to find Keenan and bring him home. The two opponents are soon to strike up conversation, leaving the
fighting behind. Merukimon, begining to trust Spencer, tells him that he would need to find the god of the Digital
World- to ask its permission to take Keenan back and to solve the impending Digimon/human conflict. Spencer is very eager to
meet this god and soon parts. Merukimon decides its best for him to remain there to protect the Digital Gate from Digimon
entering the real world.
Some time later, Kurata decided it was up to him to go back to the Digital World and erase all of the Digimon so that there
would be no conflict. He employs the use of Gizumon- what seem to be artificially created Digimon- to begin the eradication
of Digimon. The Gizmon send a beam that scrambes a Digimon's data, making it impossible for it to be reborn.
Keenan felt the pain of this first hand. Frigimon was hunted down and killed by Kurata's Gizumon. Before she died, Frigimon
told Keenan not to hate humans. Keenan, who had grown up with Digimon, thought he was a Digimon himself. From that moment on,
he declared himself the Digital World's warrior and swore to hate humans for killing Frigimon.
Some time later, Spencer sends Kudamon and Kamemon to the real world with blue prints for the Data Link Digivice. They also carry with them a message for Sampson and Yushima to organize an establishment that promotes the Digimon and human races working together. It is then that DATS is born. Besides keeping peace, it is also their job send Digimon back to the Digital World by reverting them to their DigiEgg forms and transporting them back.
Ten years after the exploration team's original adventure, Marcus Damon- son of Spencer Damon- discovers Agumon and his own DNA.
