The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office released more details on Friday about a small plane that plunged into the Verde River, killing both people aboard.
The office has identified the victims as Larry Olson of Cave Creek and Mark Wild of Mesa.
Their experimental plane, which was owned by Olson, crashed Thursday after leaving Deer Valley Airport in Phoenix.
There is evidence that the plane clipped high voltage power lines before crashing south of Bartlett Lake.
The wreckage was spotted by a helicopter crew dispatched by Arizona Public Service Company to check on a problem with the power lines in the area.
They potted a ten-foot section of blackened power lines, one of which was frayed. Below it was a chunk of airplane wing.
Sheriff's divers recovered one body Thursday and the second Friday.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation and Safety Board will investigate the crash.
