Lady Marmalade

Okay, so I am totally diggin' this girl power trend, and like every girl would like to think to myself as an "independent woman". So, when 5 "soul sistahs" get together in the new song "Lady Marmalade" you expect that they will create more than just a cute teeny-bopper tune. "Lady Marmalade" features a combination of Christina Aguilera's powerful and unique voice, Mya's sweet tone, and Lil' Kim's foreboding words along with Pink and Missy Elliot. The result? - A good song that fails to showcase the best skills of each artist.
In "Lady Marmalde", Pink and Missy Elliot barely get a line in while Mya, Christina, and Lil' Kim are forced to share material that they each could have done amazing things with on their own. Despite my belief that this song isn't what it could have been musically, it is still definitely a cute, upbeat song that is perfect for a guy-bashing "girls night out". Afterall, what girl doesn't want to be one of the "bad ass chicks" using up players like Atari?
