They are actually a new grenade within the others like Smoke, Flash and Frags. ..Killstreak unlocks are for mighty-things like the ac130 gunship, or a helicopter, or things that can do real damage to people.. What would semtex be any use for?, if c4 exist, come on CVG.. use your head, you've been around since 1981, surely you know things by now. I played this in 2007. I think it was called Call of Duty 4... KMakawa, before you start suggesting CVG start 'using their head', perhaps you should start using yours in order to write better sentences than 'They are actually a new grenade within the others like smoke, flash and frags'. Or perhaps, like CVG, you may have made a little mistake.
I'm not entirely sure why a videogame magazine/website that's been around since 1981 should understand specifics about military explosives. Perhaps the writer, in this case, doesn't know much about semtex. As you're so knowledgeable on the subject, please enlighten us on this subject.
Back to the game, the video looks good. I like the fact the environments appear more full of real-world items; cars, furniture and equipment, etc. I think that really adds to the realism of the maps.
I probably know the answer to this, but I hope furniture and such like can be destroyed by explosives. In the original it always seemed odd that a car could explode, but a table was bomb proof! (Perhaps Infinity Ward know of some new table technology and in future the armed forces will start attaching these tables to their vehicles or use them for body armour!!)
While I understand deformable environments are either beyond Infinity Ward, or their game engine, or impossible within the time-constraints, there's no excuse for everything within a room to be bomb proof. At the very least furniture should be blown away from it's original position if an explosive grenade goes off next to it. As for destructable wooden doors, or holes appearing in walls... I guess I'll be close to retirement before that's added to a Modern Warfare game! There's only thing to say to this: Suh-WEET! :D Wow , i just fainted i cat believe they put customizable kill streaks in it haha im so excited :D looks megafantastic
i am still unsure about buying this, depending if i can find a good deal on the hardened edition come nearer to the release date
but it looks like whatever i pay i am sure it will be worth it in the end...i just hope it has a longer single player campaign than COD4 had when i played on Normal Setting(just under 6 hrs) Sorry about that, I wasn't aware grammar-nazis were on patrol on CVG tonight. However it is quite late my brain starts to melt, so stfu k? o.o;
And in terms of deformable environments - infinityward have expanded quite a bit onto this in Modern Warfare 2, not to the degree you are talking about however, having blown open walls and a few other things, would need a severe rework in the engine. However they have gotten a little bit beyond those junk on tables, loose-laid bricks ontop of walls, and vehicles. One of the noticeable things I had picked up on when the E3 showing was happening, is that you can shoot certain things on walls, which then lead to little explosions. stuff like that, is in the game. Will have to wait and see for more stuff along those lines however. metallicorphan, aren't all games too short when you play them on easy settings? Dont' waste time playing it on kids and granny settings, put it on the hardest or at worst next one down, and you'll find the battles are far more intense, far more exciting and far more rewarding. With the promise of no more respawning enemy, with a little thought, and some intelligent tatics, even the hardest difficulty should be easy enough for practically all gamers.
KMakawa, yes, I'll pick out people's grammatical mistakes when they suggest the website's article writer should 'use their head'. It wasn't personal, as you seem to have understood.
I probably didn't explain it very well, but when I suggested holes in walls or doors, I was actually thinking about gunshot holes. But seeing as the game engine only ever allows a handful of gunshot marks at any one time it's clearly a ridiculous idea to expect anything as clever, or as advanced, as gunshot holes in doors or walls with this game. Shame though, because it would add a new dynamic to the game and massively add to the realism. Superb^^
So much improvement! 11/10/09 noted* XD For fans of the game this looks spot on to me. It's a shame though that it'll have basically nothing to compete with when released but even if I had the choice of more games i'd probably spend most of my time on this anyway!!
Roll on November, thinking some time off work round then would be good! Looks very good, but Activision can still suck my plums if they think I'm forking out the extra cash for it.
Everyone else should really do the same, otherwise this price hike will be seen across all publishers. I pre-ordered it at a discounted price. Argos? Have yet to see a MW2 video which blows me away, everything so far seems more of the same. I did just shit the bed slightly. Can't wait :-D That looks disgustingly amazing! can't wait, even if it is going to cost an absolute fortune See that's exactly why games cost too much. It Looks good that's for sure i just hope that they don't over crowd certain area's in the game needlessly.
Really its the only game coming out a X-mas that arouses any interest for me. Now that looks impressive!
So I am guessing then that you get a certain kills streak and thus get to choose a suitably kick ass strike. These are evidently not one way however as the video shows someone using a stinger to shoot down the plane?
I think hibernation is in order until November ;) I think I just wet myself... Seriously though, I can't wait. It's just going to be nice to have some new weapons, but more importantly brand spanking new maps.
:D We should all boycott for a couple of weeks as a protest against the needless price rise, cheeky *******s asking a for a tenner extra just cos its going to be popular. Some people are too easily pleased. Just hope it has a decent length campaign. may break a record for me this I mean cod4 mw I got to lvl 24 online (no prestige) then cod waw I got to lvl 31 (still no prestige) I may get higher in this one it may actually grab me by the nuts ..... but I doubt it. I guess time shall tell. I'll get it for 39.99 it doesn't deserve to be paid extra for activision can get a reality check people willing to pay more are just ****ed in the head. will be paying £40 for it - what its worth. its a big shame the retailer will be talking the hit though and activision will be reaping the profits no matter what.
IW should get the **** out of there! the CoD name is getting tired now anyways. Jesus I cannot wait for this game!!!! It looks amazin, hopefully the single player campaign will be longer!! I think Activision are takin the piss if its tru about bumpin the price up for the game tho! I preordered with Gameseek, the fact that they take 15% off any retail-price for any product, is a bonus. they took 18% off the original mw2 case, it's like 44£ now. Man, this looks awesome. I like the look of the new maps, and the weapon enhancements. There is no way on the planet I'm paying £54.99 for it though. For that price I'd expect a super-special-limited-collectors edition. Activision should be ashamed of themselves. Ive played all COD's , COD1 had a fantastic MP espically in the early and late days when rifle only on harbour was LAW!! and beinging the only person who didnt hack I quite enjoyed kicking ass however its SP was alwful.
In my eyes COD4 has been the only COD to succeed in making a worthy and half decent SP, So have no fear people over the SP im sure it will be great just like its older brother.
p.s Wtf is actually comming out a christmas this year apart from this and Micheal Jackson Christmas Remix vol 3 : featuring Daniel O Donell and Donny Osmond. Defo getting this game, getting fed up of the dogs and the campers on COD WAW.
And to the people who say they aint buying it,i say ur all full of shit. »
Amazon.co.uk for the PC. »»
Ew. PC :p,
Nah man, everyone to their own I guess :P:P I could swear this game is some kind of drug...Everyone seems so excited about it, but, I couldn't care less about it. Really looking forward to buying half a game for £50.00 and then buying the other half through DLC!
Activision are mint!
What recession?
:? »»
You can play games on those?!
 Well before i meet my partner i would have played quite abit, over 24hrs played , 100,000 kills and a ratio of 2.38 .. yes i had no life then and since im getting a 50inch plasma for MW2 i guess that means i still dont have a life lol I won't be paying anymore than £35 for this. It's no different from any other game to warrant that price hike.
I'll be busy with Forza3 and GT5 anyway so the game can wait. all i care abt is if IW fix the respawns and AI and im sold »»»
At heart I still remain a PC gamer and there is little that can be said or done to persuade me (asides from large sums of money,) to put up with the expected clumsy gamepad controls for a king FPS like "MW 2" when the PC version offers me access to my precision gaming keyboard and mouse. That the PC version is cheaper as well is an added bonus. :D »»»
It boggles the mind. I'm a rebel gamer alright. 8) :P »»»»
You are living on the cutting edge, my friend! I have to agree with Wiikii really - what's it got over COD4? The gameplay looks incredibly similar to me. Customised killstreaks could have been patched in 4 to be honest, with new maps and a bit of explosive scenery too. DLC worthy you could say.
You've seen what Valve can do with their games (particularly TF2) (also ignoring the recent L4D2.) Dont be pathetic >.<"
How can you tweak an whole game via DLC, L4D proved that.. it'd be more time consuming to do it via DLC, then it would for a entire new game.
Whats it got apart from COD4, well the story progresses, for one. And, all the other things in this post, which I cant be arsed to reiterate for you. Well it's nice to see IW adding something new to multiplayer customisable kill streaks sound awesome - but those bonuses seem way overpowered; thankfully I'm usually receiving these bonuses, rather than being a victim of them! :)
My only complaint is that IW saw fit to use only the 360 to show off the game (not that I have anything against the 360); though that is just trifle compared to what the game hopefully will turn up to be. BTW, does anyone have information regarding any new perks for Modern Warfare 2 yet? :? Pathetic? Wow, I apologise for voicing my opinion and such.
If anything, the L4D sequel disproved your point, given that all of the additions that have been revealed so far could have and will be implemented by those crazy modders on the original engine. Like I said, look to Team Fortress 2 to see what I'm saying. All of the additional (free) content has far surpassed any additions made by several sequels of CoD and Fifa, for example.
The story progresses - that's great. I was talking about multiplayer. Besides, if anything, it's more the single player that could have been released as DLC (a la GTAIV) given the few (barely noticable) changes in game mechanics/graphics that I've seen so far. I just kind of disagree mate, the point still stands that the developer feels it warrants a new game, Otherwise hell yeah, they probably would of brought it into DLC. I still feel that there would be too much to change of the old game, to actually get it all to work for Modern Warfare, rather then Modern Warfare 2. Alot of upgrades to the engine has happened on MW2, there is a lot more detail in terms of environments and gun textures and player models, all that stuff. Not including the tech with the explosion wiring and all that stuff. And the Killstreak Perks, new multiplayer modes, To do all this via DLC would of taken a lot more time and reworking to add it all in. it just isn't wise.
The same went for Left4Dead 2, the developers said that to rework the L4D would be daft, and taken more time then expected, so they brought out L4D2.
You cant really compare developers though, Rockstar know what to do, that's why they bring DLC out that change storys within the game -- Because they had it in mind at the time, InfinityWard did not think Call of Duty 4 was going to blow up like it had, so they didn't have that mindset :S Yeah, you've got a good point.
I hope IW get this right, though the pricing issues that have risen are horrible. The video quality was awful but apart from that it looked interesting. Especially the gunship view from above and what appears to be new weapons. Interesting one of the weapons appeared to even have a computer screen attached to it!
In all I think if they can improve the physics and gameplay a little bit then it will be good.
Maybe for number 3 or what ever they do next they can make a huge jump in the engine as they did from cod 2 to cod 4. As much as the game is good it is sometimes annoying to look at other shooters in multiplayer and see mostly destructable environments. The computer screen is probably going to be a perk, it is actually a Heart-Beat Sensor, it senses people around you, I have no idea on how that is going to be prevented from other perks though. How can you stop your heart beat? Lol. It would be a good idea that when u get a 10 kill streak u could call in a Predator wich would be able to find your targets like a UAV and kill them like a chopper Our you could just use a UAV after 3 kills and a Chopper after 7 instead of waiting for 10 lol, dont think you really thought this one through... But hey at least you tried cant expect to much after all you are a fan of Rise Against. :P Lmao!! Oh lord. stop fooking moaning about the price will ya? it aint gonna change, a boycott wouldnt work and yer its a rip off...but nvm people will still pay it, and activision know that all to well. We live in a capitalist society people; all these company's are out to get your money they dont want youre acceptance and loyalty, tards. |
