Pre-order Batman, get exclusive map

Featuring "The Scarecrow and his army of skeletons"
Eidos has revealed a pretty cool pre-order incentive whereby pre-ordering Batman: Arkham Asylum from UK retailer Game gives you an exclusive combat challenge map.

If you order from any high street branch or online you'll get access to the Villains Challenge Map, "a unique combat Challenge Map playable within the game where Batman must descend into the depths of his own nightmares and come face-to-face with The Scarecrow and his army of skeletons," reads Eidos sheet of facts.

who the hell buys from Game in 2009? thye charge the full RRP on everything. I'd rather pick this up for £30 off the internet without an extra map, than £40/£45 i imagine these ***** will charge

Not true. I've got Halo: O.D.S.T pre-ordered for £29.99.

I'm still waiting for a demo to decide if this is worth getting or not. Still unsure.
This is a pretty good idea, but I'm sure it will be released as DLC shortly after release anyway.

Any if they do the same as with Far Cry 2 (putting a sticker on the front of the case), I'm sure it will be on the net within an hour of release (I doubt they would do that though).

*raises hand*

Well, I do have £20 worth of reward points. I can get Batman for £19.99 with that, so I'm happy.

But I'm going to wait for reviews first, if I'm still unsure then I hope there will be a demo.

definately going to get this but do i go for the 360 or the PS3.

You ge tto play as the Joker in the PS3. But the 360 has the far superior pad.

decisions decisions.

all ready pre-ordered this from GAME a while ago! managed to get the collectors edition for £50 which isnt bad!

Tough choice.

I would go with the PS3 version. I would rather put up with a pad I don't really care for if it meant I got more for my money.

GAME more often than not work out the cheapest for preorders. I have 30 odd games preordered including Batman for £29.99, Halo: ODST for 19.99. and ill get around a fiver back in cashback/reward points from both so only actually paying approx £26 for Batman, and £17 for Halo. You just need to keep an eye out for discount codes and preorder everything in one go, and your sorted. Safer than places that nick your credit card details, naming no names of course....

If I had the option, I'd probably opt for the PS3 version....the Joker looks to be a lot of fun.

:)

I'm getting tired of different retailers having different exclusives, I've pre-ordered from play.com (special edition) and that has code to download amoured suit and crime alley map.

Same here. You already have a PS3, so it makes sense getting that version, even if you have to use the awful pad (MY OPINION!).

I'm really sick of this in-game exclusives crap.

Same here, this Batman seems to be going crazy with all this exclusive content.

PS3 exclusive character and pre order exclusives....wtf?

The game is supposed to be great but I'm awfully tempted to just buy it preowned so they get none of my money. That'll learn 'em.

I would get COD6 preowned also as their pricing structure is just plain evil. I'd be waiting the best part of a year for a copy I'd imagine though.

And I still can't believe there isn't a one disc version of ODST. It's ridiculous getting people to buy what they already own.

That's a bit of a dilemma. Personally I find the thought of frustrating controls worse than missing out on the Joker character...Then again, since I haven't had any "hands-on" time with this game yet it may be a moot point once you actually try it.

I like the bonus map offered by pre-ordering, but it's not quite enough to make me commit just yet although I anticipate picking up this title at some point.

Yeah, I'm not exactly thrilled by that trend in some games ("Empire: Total War" did a similar thing with elite units - that has the potential to upset the game balance, especially in the online multiplayer mode).

Pre-Ordered mine ages ago from Amazon for the collectors Edition and paid ONLY £30 (now it's 45 something and still cheaper than game) ! :D so game and go and screw themselves !
