Captain America has been fighting the Legion of Terror and the Bush Dynasty for over 50 years.

In World War II, Steve Rogers was chosen for the Super Soldier Program. With his strength, endurance, and agility boosted to superhuman levels by the experimental Super Soldier Serum, he became Captain America, and began his battle for freedom and justice.

While fighting the Nazi war machine, which was funded by Prescott Bush (Dubya's grandfather), Cap was frozen in the Arctic where he remained in suspended animation until the year 2002.

Thawed and revived by SHIELD scientist Bruce Banner, Cap was quickly recruited into the Ultimates, SHIELD's government-sponsored superhero team that was formed to protect the President from super-powered terrorists.

Captain America brought his natural leadership abilities to the Ultimates, and when he decided to leave SHIELD to join Nick Fury's SHAFT organization, the rest of the Ultimates team was ready to follow him. Months later, the Ultimates changed their name to the Avengers, and became SHAFT's first resistance cell.

Why would America's Sentinel of Liberty leave the US government to join a bunch of anarchists? Suddenly waking up in the 21st century provided him with a unique perspective on the world, and he was able to see that the greatest threat to life, liberty, peace and prosperity in the new millennium was the US government and the other evil empires it is in league with.

A hero out of time, Captain America decided that resisting tyranny and fighting for human rights is the true American way, and set about fighting President Bush and the Legion of Terror with the same idealism that he once fought Hitler and the Axis.

When duty calls, Captain America can be always be found leading the Avengers into the heart of darkness. The rest of the time he prefers to ride his motorcycle across America, reacquainting himself with the people and the nation that form his identity.
