The security services market is
booming. Security services expenditures in the U.S. alone will
grow from $3.7 billion in 2000 to $9.3 billion in 2005, according
to Gartner Group projections. Such revenue projections are a
hard lure to resist. Many security "specialists" have
set up shop in recent years, and most large professional services

"Venture capital firms are just throwing money at security
companies," reports Gartner’s John Pescatore. Anybody
who can gather 10 or so bodies with security résumés,
VCs are still funding them."
