Codemasters sells 50% stake

Half of DIRT publisher snapped up by Indian firm
UK publisher Codemasters has sold a 50 per cent of its business to India's Reliance Big Entertainment, alongside existing investor Balderton Capital.

According to industry site MCV, Reliance's gaming division, Zapak Digital Entertainment, will manage the investment.

Zapak is the largest gaming company in India, specialising in online casual games, MMOs, gaming cafes and physical distribution of software. It also controls mobile games studio Jump Games.

Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters, said: "The opportunities arising from this partnership are truly exciting. This is great news for our development and publishing teams.

"Reliance and Zapak have immense resources and will help us realize the full potential of our game coding and online excellence across so many platforms, and especially in the world's fastest growing markets. The future of Codemasters has never looked brighter. It's a whole new game."

Like always the british goverment doing too little too late. They have made mistakes like this all my life. british gaming company's forced to sell, move abroad now alongside all other british industries.
Its about time we had a younger generation of politicians who didn't have silver spoons in there mouths at birth, people in touch with reality.
