Vision 2020

  • In 1997, Texas A&M; embarked upon a comprehensive evaluation and planning program with the aim of securing recognition as a consensus "Top 10" public university by the year 2020
  • Vision 2020 will build upon Texas A&M;'s tradition of excellence, while identifying areas requiring improvement and recommending necessary action, without sacrificing the core values upon which the university is solidly founded or its proud and unique heritage
  • Its cornerstone is the report, Vision 2020: Creating a Culture of Excellence, which sets forth hundreds of individual recommendations categorized into 12 "imperatives" relating to all aspects of Texas A&M; and its relationships with students, faculty, staff, the community and the state, nation and world it proudly serves
