- First-rate faculty, reputation for academic excellence and premier research facilities combine to create
exemplary graduate study opportunities, more than 230 masters and doctoral degrees offered
- Consistently ranked among the top 10 nationwide in number of science and engineering doctoral degrees
conferred annually
- The non-profit Quality Education for Minorities Network, in its latest survey, ranked Texas A&M; second in
the nation for producing minority PhDs in mathematics, physical sciences, and engineering, and it ranks among
leaders nationally in number of doctoral degrees awarded to minority students
- Now has in effect a policy to pay tuition for all graduate assistants
- University funding increased from $923 per graduate student in 2001 to $2,006 per student 2005
- New Pathways to the Doctorate Program created to encourage strong research mentor relationships between
faculty/students, thereby making it easier for students from other Texas A&M; System universities to transition to
graduate study at Texas A&M;
- Graduate-level minority enrollment has increased by 50 percent over 1996 levels and by 40 percent in the
last two years
- 70,856 graduate and professional degrees awarded as of August 2005
