With music from all over the freakin' world at this year's first annual WorldJam festival this weekend, it shouldn't be surprising that indigenous American music gets a lot of props as well. Trish Murphy is an emerging young singer/songwriter from Austin who infuses her songs with both a rootsy, rural soul and a keen melodic Pop sensibility. Murphy's debut, Rubies on the Lawn (Doolittle/ Mercury) is a sparkling blend of Folk, Country and Rock that has led to placement on the Lilith Fair tour, mucho Triple A radio play and comparisons to everyone from Bonnie Raitt to Sheryl Crow to Jewel.
At the WorldJam festival, Sunday (6 p.m.).
