Flyers prove their point with two goals by Primeau
It was just one game in a long, 82-game schedule, but it meant more than that to the Flyers. They finally beat the Ottawa Senators, 2-1, last night at the First Union Center. Ottawa is the team that embarrassed the Flyers in last spring's playoffs, holding them to just two goals in five games.

Flyers elect not to dwell on history with Senators
Don't call this a milestone game. And don't think a win will equal revenge. That's what the Flyers were saying yesterday about playing Ottawa tonight in the First Union Center for the first time since last spring.

Flyers campaigning for respect while awaiting Senators' visit
The memories of last season's playoff series against the irritating Ottawa Senators remain vivid for the Flyers. Three straight shutout losses. An amazing total of 81 attempted shots, including blocks and misses, in Game 2, but nothing but zeros on the scoreboard. Goalie Roman Cechmanek's surrendering in Game 4. Finally, a 2-1 loss in overtime in Game 5 to end the series.

Quickly, Flyers make point
Ken Hitchcock thinks having a fast start is important. Who can argue with him? The Flyers' coach had lamented how his team had started slowly the past three games. Then, the Flyers came out and scored two goals in the first 31 seconds in a 6-2 beating of the New York Islanders on Saturday night.

There is little question that Simon Gagne hasn't had a blazing start for the Flyers. Not because the 22-year-old forward isn't working. His work ethic is among the best on the team. Rather, he is not finishing at the net.
