The cover you need is �19.99 official Amazon cover, it's called 7th. Generation and will fit the new Touch and Voyage. I have the black version you can pay a further �5 if you want the leather version but this one is perfectly fine with a nice matt cloth like finish. It puts the Kindle to sleep (standby mode) and wakes it on opening the cover , but does not close tight magnetically. I bought a �8 case from eBay it had a a magnetic silver piece of metal for opening and closing etc, but it scratched my new Touch, so be careful with cheaper copies. �20 is not cheap but in the end it looks great and won't damage your new Kindle. I hope this helps you.

Most people will buy a cheap case for their tablet/e-reader, costing about �5, intending to get a better one at a later date. They end up living with the cheap case, despite the fact it hampers their use of the device, by being bulky or heavy or not fitting right.

This genuine Amazon case is different altogether. It's a perfect fit for the new kindle (so good a fit that it won't work with any other device) and there is no looseness or creaking - it's a high-quality bit of design.

This protective polyurethane case is tough enough to give good protection - by which I mean you could stand on it and your kindle would survive. You still have access to the controls.

The on/off feature works well, not that you particularly need it on an e-ink device due to the battery lasting so long.

So what we have here is a basic slim case for the kindle, which is well made and fits perfectly, and feels quality all-round. The only problem is the price. This is undoubtedly the best slimcase for the new kindle, but it's twice the cost of very similar cases.

It depends on the buyer, of course; the best comes at a premium.

Note: I returned this product as I was unsatisfied.

This is a lovely book cover, the problem I had however was that there is no closing mechanism, as such it would fall easily fall open if packed loose in a bag, not protecting the screen.

With a clasp I think it would be great. However, I replaced it with a cover for half the price that I think is just as nice, but has a magnetic clasp.

This cover fits perfectly and is light weight. I also love that it folds for one hand reading. The only negative I have is that it seems that if you turn your screen off, close it, and but it your bag, and it's not totally tight in there, it will open in route, and there for, go into standby mode, draining your battery. I have found that if you put a rubber band around it, it keeps it shut in your bag. Not pretty, but it does the job.

Perfect fit for the kindle and the auto function is pretty nifty. Pricy considering case to product price ratio, but it is good quality and offers good protection for your device (it does make the device look more upmarket - if that's your thing!). However as other reviewer(s) have stated could do with a latch but easily circumvented (sorry word a day calendar).
It is a branded case so it does state amazon in a raised black TM on the bottom right and inside sleeve.

It's a shame that with so many revisions of the Kindle, that Amazon can't make a universal set of covers. However, I suppose that this means the cover will fit perfectly over your e-reader, but only if you have the 7th generation version. The cover is a step up in terms of the quality I would normally expect from Amazon's own basic brand products, which have normally been what I would call functional, but not much more. This is a nice, book style wraparound cover that will keep your electronic companion in first rate condition. It's a little heavier than some covers, in fact as heavy as the Kindle itself. If you don't mind the weight of your reading device being doubled, this will serve you well.
