Genealogy Centre Opened

The Helen Macpherson Smith Genealogy Centre was named in recognition of a very generous donation made by the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust and dedicated to the memory of Helen. The Library Foundation was instrumental in working with the Trust several years ago to achieve this outcome and provide an outstanding world-class genealogy facility for all Victorians.
Victoria's Lieutenant-Governor Lady Southey AM, officially opened the Genealogy Centre on 30 October. The Chairman of the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust, Darvell Hutchinson AM, spoke about Helen and her legacy. Genealogy staff were on hand to speak to guests and demonstrate the various resources available for users.
