Applications Now Open for Premier's Literary Awards

Applications are being accepted until 4 May for the 11 categories being judged in the 2007 Premier's Literary Awards. These prestigious awards, administered by the State Library of Victoria, recognise excellence in Australian writing and in contributions to the development of Australian culture.
The Nettie Palmer Prize is Australia’s richest annual prize for non-fiction and the John Curtin Prize is Australia's richest prize for journalism. Previous winners in these categories include Helen Ennis, Robert Dessaix, Chloe Hooper and Gideon Haigh.
The Awards shortlist will be announced on Friday 10 August, with the winners to be announced on Monday 3 September.
