Library Treasures Travel to Country Victoria

22 May 2007

In early June, country Victorians have the chance to see a selection of the Library's most treasured collection items up close through its Travelling Treasures program. This regional tour is now a regular part of the Library's calendar of events, and one of the important ways the Library helps make its collection as accessible as possible to the community.

Items to be shown comprise the Lazarus Diary, the Lofty Cannon Collection, goldfields maps and the official published account of the voyage of the First Fleet. Library experts will be on hand to discuss the items and field questions.

These unique items will visit public libraries in Seymour on 5 June, Bendigo on 6 June and Maryborough on 7 June. The events are free but bookings are required.
