Free 'My Place' Screenings and Events

24 February 2010

The Library will be showing episodes of the new children's drama series My Place each week on the big screen in Experimedia. The 13-part series tells the stories of 13 children who have lived in the very same spot in Australia, from 2008 back to 1888.

Nadia Wheatley, author of the acclaimed book My Place on which the series is based, will also be at the Library to host two special events.

Families are invited to join Nadia this Sunday 28 February to hear her read excerpts from My Place and talk about the TV series and website.

On Monday 1 March Nadia will run a session for primary school teachers, viewing clips from the series and introducing the My Place for Teachers website. The site was developed by the Australian Children's Television Foundation in partnership with Curriculum Corporation and features activities for Years 3 to 6.

Both events are free. For booking details, see What's On.

My Place screenings in Experimedia begin on Wednesday 3 March. Check What's On for a full list of dates.
