New Award for Journalism

7 June 2005

A new award for excellence in journalism has been announced by the Premier, Steve Bracks. The John Curtin Prize for Journalism will recognise a feature, in any medium, that helps define Australia's place in the world. Presented annually, this new award will offer recipients $15,000 in prize money.

Nominations for the Premier's Literary Awards opened on 4 May. A shortlist will be made public on 16 September, and the winners will be announced at an Awards dinner in October.

For more information about the new award for journalism, see the John Curtin Prize for Journalism page.
