Drawing on Australia's Comic History

21 September 2006

The State Library of Victoria's latest exhibition, Heroes & Villains: Australian comics and their creators, opens on 20 October in the Keith Murdoch Gallery. The free exhibition, curated by Kevin Patrick, showcases the colourful history of Australian comics from the 1940s to today.

Meet the characters that have entertained generations of Australians, from high-flying heroes such as Captain Atom to cheeky misfits like Fatty Finn. Marvel at tales of adventure, explore fantasy realms and chuckle at larrikin antics!

Featuring rare Australian comics, original artwork and memorabilia, Heroes & Villains will appeal to comic-book fans, nostalgia buffs and families alike.

An action-packed program of events complements the exhibition.
