Grollo Ruzzene Literary Prize Now Annual

20 April 2006

Following the success of the 2005 inaugural Grollo Ruzzene Foundation Prize for Writing about Italians in Australia, this prize will be offered annually rather than biennially, as originally planned. It is now being offered in 2006.

The award is part of the prestigious Premier's Literary Awards, administered by the State Library of Victoria. Now in their 22nd year, the awards recognise the best in Australian writing across categories including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essays, screenplays, drama, history, journalism and Indigenous writing.

Due to the late addition of the award to the 2006 program, entries for the Grollo Ruzzene Foundation Prize will be accepted until Friday 26 May. The closing date for entries in all other categories in the Premier's Literary Awards is Friday 12 May.

For further details about the Grollo Ruzzene Foundation Prize, or any of the other prizes on offer, see our Premier's Literary Awards information.
