Research From Home Instead of the Library

16 June 2006

Do you need in-depth information for a study or research project, or just for interest? You can now access some information databases from home via our website. And it's free - although you do need to be a registered Library user to access the service.

You can:

  • Read 200 year's worth of the London Times (1785-1985) in the Times Digital Archive
  • Find reviews, extracts and summaries of over 550,000 books, in Book Review Digest Plus
  • Dig up facts on famous figures through history, in Biography Resource Center
  • Browse six major US newspapers, from the 1800s to now, in ProQuest Historical Newspapers
  • Discover musical styles, composers and works in the encyclopedic Grove Music Online.

Other resources include information on health, films, literature, the visual arts, business and industry.

Find out more about accessing information databases from home and registering as a Library user.

(The Library's full range of information databases can be accessed when you visit the Library.)
