Family Day at the State Library

11 April 2005

The State Library invites you to a day of free activities for all the family, to celebrate the completion of The changing face of Victoria exhibition on Sunday 17 April.

Explore the exhibition and discover the people, places and events that have shaped Victoria over two centuries. Examine treasures such as Ned Kelly’s armour and attend a fascinating free talk by the exhibition curator. Stage Two of the exhibition opens on Family Day, with new sections including Marvellous Melbourne and Victorians at War.

At the Conservation Clinic, Library experts will offer free assessment and advice on caring for your precious old letters, books, photographs and documents.

There’s fun for kids of all ages, with storytelling sessions, marvellous magic shows, computer animation workshops and free souvenir certificates. Children will love decorating replicas of Ned Kelly’s armour, and posing for free photo portraits dressed as Ned.

Details of the Family Day program, can be found in the Programs and Events section of this website.
