Applications Invited for Ramsay and Reid Scholarships

Applications are now open for the 2007 Margery C Ramsay and Barret Reid Scholarships. These annual awards, worth $15,000 each, are open to Victorian public library staff. They allow recipients to fund professional development activities such as study tours, internships, conference attendance and private research projects.
Applications must be received by Friday 24 August. Details of past recipients, scholarship guidelines, the application form and referee form can be found on our website.
The 2005 Margery C Ramsay Scholarship recipient, Shirley Prescott, says 'I am immensely grateful to the Library Board of Victoria for awarding me the Margery C Ramsay Scholarship in 2005 to undertake my study of reader development in the UK. I have never felt so passionately about anything in my working life before and it has opened so many doors for me... I urge any of you who have a particular enthusiasm in your work to make a Ramsay and Reid application - if you are successful, it gives you a once in a lifetime opportunity.'
