Applications Invited for Library's 2006-07 Creative Fellowships

2 February 2006

The State Library of Victoria is inviting applications for its 2006-07 program of Creative Fellowships. The Fellowships, supported by the State Government and the AGL Shaw Foundation, encourage the scholarly, literary and creative use of the Library’s rich collections.

Up to eight Fellowships are awarded for three or six months, providing a stipend of $12 500 and $25 000 respectively and the means and uninterrupted time to work with the vast resources of the State Library. Fellows can undertake research in any area of the Library, and are required to produce publications or work based on these collections and share their ideas with the public.

The Fellowships are open to Australian residents who are scholars, writers, artists, composers or developers of new media across a broad range of disciplines. Applications for the 2006-07 Creative Fellowships close Friday, 31 March 2006. Recipients will be announced in July.

Applicants are encouraged to attend a general information evening to discuss proposals before they are submitted. This will be held on Monday 6 March 2006 from 6pm to 8pm, in the Library’s Village Roadshow Theatrette, Entry 3, La Trobe Street, Melbourne.

For further information and an application form, please visit the Library's Research Programs pages.
