2007 Programs Launched

2 February 2007

The Library's Centre for Youth Literature and Education Programs Unit have launched their 2007 programs of events. In addition, the Centre for Youth Literature has launched its Reading Matters conference program, due to take place in May. All programs can be downloaded from the Library website or provided in hard copy.

The Library's Education Programs Unit offers engaging exhibition tours, events and workshops for students and teachers. Run by specialist education staff, they cover seven major learning streams and are based on the Library's impressive collections, spaces and exhibitions. Bookings for the 2007 program of events for schools can now also be made online.

The Centre for Youth Literature promotes reading. It organises events to encourage and challenge young readers and professional development sessions to keep adults in touch with the latest issues and ideas in youth literature. The CYL 2007 program of events offers exciting events with authors including Terry Pratchett, Doug MacLeod and John Nicholson. Regional and touring programs visit Bendigo and Tasmania.

The biennial conference Reading Matters is Australia's leading youth literature event for both professionals and young people. The Reading Matters 2007 program offers dynamic and fun readings, discussions and performances with a stellar cast of international and local authors. The 2005 event was a sell-out so book early for this year's event.
