Miley Cyrus caught up in bong-smoking scandal

Teen star Miley Cyrus is set to stun her young fans after a video showing her smoking a bong allegedly containing hallucinogenic legal high Salvia was leaked on the web.

The "Hannah Montana" star, who turned 18 years old last month, has been caught on camera puffing on a huge pipe days after celebrating her birthday.

In the video, obtained by TMZ.com, the star is seen inhaling smoke, allegedly from the burning of controversial but legal psychoactive plant Salvia.

She then giggles uncontrollably and asks pals if she's "tripping" - before mistakenly identifying a mystery man nearby as her on/off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

In the film, shot by a female friend of the singer/actress, a pal is initially seen lighting the pipe and telling Cyrus to "Hold it! Hold it!" as she takes in the smoke.

Cyrus then flops back in her chair and laughs uncontrollably before telling her friends: "Oh I'm gonna lose it now... I'm going. Having a little bit of a bad trip! Is that a f**king Liam lookalike or what the hell is that? Is that my boyfriend? Is that my boyfriend? Oh my God, he looks so much like Liam!"

The teen star points to her head and giggles as she asks a pal: "Is it me tripping? Is it me tripping?" before breaking down in uncontrollable laughter.

She then asks the woman who is filming her antics at the party: "Oh my God, are you being as weird as I think you are right now?"

As the clip ends, Cyrus cackles loudly again and starts babbling incoherently, before the woman holding the camera tells her: "You are going to s**t a brick when you see this."

Although the Salvia plant is legal in California, it was banned in Delaware in 2006 following the suicide of teenager Brett Chidester, after his parents argued the substance played a significant factor in his death.

Eddie Cibrian's ex slams LeAnn Rimes' cheating song

Eddie Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanville has slammed his girlfriend LeAnn Rimes for releasing a song about cheating partners, insisting the words are "in poor taste."

The country singer has been dating former "CSI: Miami" star Cibrian since last year, when they came clean about their affair and split from their respective spouses.

Earlier this week, Rimes released the single "Crazy Women," prompting speculation she is singing about Glanville in the track.

She sings, "Crazy women are made by crazy men/ He cheats and lies, then plays the victim/ He don't know why they always pick them/ Crazy women, ex-wives and old girlfriends/ Keep their crazy hidden/ Till they're pushed off the deep end."

Glanville has been left unimpressed with the subject matter of the single, telling E! News, "When your cheating is the cause of a 'crazy woman's' behavior, it's in poor taste to sing about it."

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez spark dating rumors again

Teen singing sensations Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have sparked fresh speculation they are dating after they were photographed walking arm-in-arm following a cozy breakfast together in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Gomez and the "Baby" hitmaker are close pals, but their relationship has been subject to gossip over the last year with reports suggesting the pair is dating.

Both stars have laughed off stories of a romance - but Bieber and Gomez sent gossips into a spin again on Wednesday when they were spotted enjoying a breakfast date at the city's International House of Pancakes.

A source tells TMZ.com the pair was holding hands and "cuddly" throughout the meal, and they were later snapped leaving the venue linking arms.

Paul McCartney enjoys talking to fans on public transportation

Paul McCartney refuses to let his super-stardom limit where he can go out in public and likes nothing better than mingling with fans while taking public transportation.

The Beatles legend admits he is no stranger to hopping on a bus on occasion and he's learned that the best way to deal with his starstruck fellow travelers is to engage them in casual conversation.

He tells talk show host Jimmy Fallon, "There's a lot of places you can go to where people kind of understand that you're on private time. But I kinda go anywhere. I don't like the idea that you get famous and it ruins it for you, it's kind of a sad idea.

"Two years ago I was on a bus in New York... and people were (staring). They don't let on. Except this African-American woman. I sat down quietly and she turns around and goes, 'You Paul McCartney?' So I said, 'Yes I am' and you can see all these other people (giggling). And she goes, 'What are you doing on a bus?' I said, 'I'm going uptown, like you are. Come sit with me.' So she came round and sat next to me and I said, 'Where are you going?' 'I'm going to see my sister...' We were just (chatting). But in that situation, you just do that and people are cool."

Winona Ryder mistrusts 'normal' men

Winona Ryder refuses to date anyone outside of the movie industry because she mistrusts "normal" guys.

The "Edward Scissorhands" beauty has been linked to a number of famous hunks over the years and was engaged to Johnny Depp in the early 1990s.

And Ryder admits she is reluctant to become involved with anyone who isn't part of Hollywood after a chance encounter with a fan left her "mistrustful" of men and their motives.

She tells Elle magazine, "I remember being at this bar called Tosca in San Francisco, and I met this guy one night. He was really cute, and we were talking, and then, like, he just said something about how he had always had a crush on me. And I was suddenly mistrustful about why he was talking to me. I wanted to be just a normal girl flirting with a normal guy.

"It's like you meet people, and they know this stuff about you. It's why you want to meet somebody who's in the same business, only because they understand more. But you don't necessarily want to be with another actor."

David Hasselhoff's reality TV show "The Hasselhoffs" has been axed after just two episodes.

And now TV chiefs have pulled the show off air, with eight half-hour episodes left unwatched.

Reese Witherspoon breakdowns watching herself act

Reese Witherspoon broke down in tears on the set of upcoming movie "This Means War" when she was shown playback footage of her performance, because she found her acting "horrifying."

The "Legally Blonde" star admits she struggles to watch herself onscreen and rarely ever revisits her projects once filming wraps - but she made a fool of herself in front of director McG after he called her over in between takes to review certain scenes.

She tells Entertainment Weekly, "I can't even watch playback of myself on a movie. McG was showing me some footage of 'This Means War,' and I just went apoplectic. I couldn't talk, I started to cry.

"I don't watch any movie I'm in. What's enjoyable about that? It's horrifying! I'll see it in a dark room one time with my managers, who I've been with for 18 years, and we'll talk about it for 10 minutes afterwards - and that's it..."

And Witherspoon blames her insecurities for her refusal to watch her own takes: "I'll just focus on something stupid, like, 'I hate my laugh. Why did I smile?' Sometimes I look at myself and think, 'Dude, I have the biggest, goofiest smile on earth.'"

Sofia Vergara: 'Ed O'Neill's Emmy comments have been misinterpreted'

Actress Sofia Vergara has come to the defense of Ed O'Neill following his controversial comments about Jane Lynch's Emmy Award win, insisting her "Modern Family" co-star's words have been misinterpreted.

O'Neill hit the headlines earlier this week after appearing to question whether the "Glee" star deserved her trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her portrayal of acid-tongued Sue Sylvester on the hit musical TV series in August.

The veteran actor claimed Lynch played a "one-note character," while he hailed Vergara as "so funny," adding, "I don't think people realize how hilarious she is. She's so sharp with her wit, it's amazing."

But the Colombian beauty has spoken out to put a stop to the controversy and she's adamant her on-screen husband O'Neill simply used the wrong choice of words to express his feelings about the Emmys.

Vergara tells "Access Hollywood," "He didn't mean it like that. I know Ed and of course he loves me and adores me and I'm so happy that he thinks I deserve an Emmy, but he didn't say it like Jane didn't deserve it and I did.

"He said to me, 'What I was trying to say was that I would have loved for you to get it, that your character, you know, deserves an Emmy.' but he was not making her (Lynch) less than me. I mean, he's not crazy!"

Nick Cannon laughs off twins rumors

Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon has laughed off rumors his wife is pregnant with twins - insisting the singer simply made a slip-up in a recent interview.

The pop superstar announced earlier this year she is expecting her first child with the rapper/actor in the spring.

Reports suggesting Carey is expecting a double bundle of joy later emerged after the "Hero" hitmaker referred to her baby as "they."

But Cannon has now explained the slip, insisting Carey was just being careful not to mention the baby's sex - because neither of them knows what gender it is.

He tells Access Hollywood, "That (twins) rumor came from an interview Mariah did where she was talking about her Christmas album and how she's been singing so much, and she referred to her stomach as 'they.' She said, 'I hope they don't hate Christmas.' From there we heard all of these twin rumors... But we want to be surprised (about the sex of the baby). We were told that it's going be one of the biggest surprises of your lifetime to see what the sex of the baby is, so, we're trying to wait. But you never know."

Jon Bon Jovi's fears for reality show stars

Jon Bon Jovi fears youngsters competing on reality TV talent contests such as "American Idol" will struggle to become enduring stars because they aren't given enough time to perfect their craft.

The Bon Jovi rocker has appeared on the show twice as a mentor to contestants, and although he appreciates the entertainment value of such competitions, he worries that many aspiring artists will crumble after experiencing instant fame.

He tells Larry King, "Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, I can go (through) the list of guys that would have all been thrown off... What artists have established, like the aforementioned, (is that they) were telling their story their way. They were stylists. And those kids (on the TV shows), they're all very technically - you know, good singers - but that does not an artist make.

"And being thrust into that spotlight where 30 million people are watching you every week, you win the contest and, by the way, you'd better have a hit record tomorrow. Wow!

"I had 21 years to write that first record. You know, you have a year or two after that to develop who you are on the stage. So it's very hard on those kids."

And Bon Jovi admits he finds a lot of other reality TV shows, such as "Dancing With The Stars," annoying - because TV producers could use their time working on charity projects instead.

He adds, "All that reality stuff is bothersome to me because I just think, you know, a show like (King's charity show) 'Heroes' could be such a better use of time. And there's just so many better things that we could be doing."

James Franco returning to 'General Hospital'

Hollywood star James Franco is returning to the small screen - he's signed on to reprise his role on soap opera General Hospital next year.

The "Spider-Man" star made a huge departure from his usual movie projects when he accepted a role on the daytime show in 2009 as a serial killer artist named Franco.

He returned to the long-running soap earlier this year to revive his character for more episodes.

And now he's signed on to appear in two more segments of the soap opera, which will air on February 25 and 28.

General Hospital's executive producer Jill Farren Phelps tells TV Guide the two episode stint will serve as a teaser for a longer story arc featuring Franco, which they plan to air later in 2011.
