Nintendo's handheld cleared 700,000 sales for the first time in a non-holiday month since June 2009, while the firm's home console recorded its best non-holiday sales month since March 2009, moving 557,500 units.
Despite enjoying an eighth consecutive month of year-over-year increases, PS3 trailed Xbox 360, the consoles shifting 313,900 and 338,400 units respectively.
Down at the bottom, PSP just edged PS2, according to data from the NPD Group.

In real terms it's still a long way behind, to catch in up america at least, which is a huge market, the ps3 has to actually outsell the xbox, which it clearly is not doing.

For a console that came out almost a year after xbox360 with double the price the sales are really good and i predict that in 18 months from now ps3 will surpass xbox360 even in usa (in europe and japan ps3 is already in front of xbox360).

The only numbers that count are official numbers, the best of which you will get are the NPD numbers.
People have been posting 33m and 39m for about four months now. You telling me that neither console hasn't gone up in the months since Christmas?
