Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi has claimed that Gran Turismo 5 will be "totally different" to GT5: Prologue.
Fans have been waiting over two years since Prologue hit PS3 for a full release of GT5 - but Yamauchi has reassured them that the full game's "scale and diversity" is far superior.
"Prologue is really only a prologue," he told CVG sister mag PSM3 this month.
"Though the look and feel of Prologue and the full version will have uniformity, the full version will be totally different in terms of scale and diversity in comparison."

His new comments come as part of a eight-page racing preview spectacular in May's PSM3, which also features F12010, Modnation racers, Blur, Split/Second and more.
it will be totally different, because at this rate, it will never get released! where as prologue has been around for what feels like an eternity! fingers out chaps, a game this year would be lovely
Prologue was a huge disappointment and nothing next gen about it, so guess this can only be a good thing. Still if its this AMAZING why aren't they releasing more media on it??! Look what happened to GT on the PSP. Still hope its cool and I'm wrong!
PS: Would be cool to have some active weather effects in it like F1 2010
The amount of time this games been in development it might as well be a different game, most competent companies can develop a full game and have it's sequel almost ready for release in the time this game has taken to develop.
Honestly I think this game will be extremely underwhelming when it launches simply by taking so long.
Prologue was a huge disappointment?? maybe only for you. The gt5 prologue was only a glimpse of what gt5 will be and not a full game and even today it's more next gen than most of the current top racers including forza 3. Of course you are wrong and it's gonna be cooler than you think.
AND TO EVERYONE HERE THAT COMPLAINS FOR THE RELEASE OF GT5 JUST "SHUT UP" AND GO PLAY FORZA INSTEAD BECAUSE THE GAME IS GOING TO BE RELEASED ONLY WHEN ITS READY AND NOT WHEN YOU WANT IT TO BE. Great games need time even if your little brain can't understand it. f.g.s

You may also wish to point out, before, during or after your inaudible screeching, that the sales of all three Forza games combined still haven't exceeded that of Gran Turismo 4, and that just the prologue of Gran Turismo 5 has very nearly out-sold the highest selling of the three Forza titles...
This is getting ridiculous. I really don't think any driving game is worth waiting this long for, especially a sim-driving game for obsessive compulsive killjoys who find taking corners at speeds under 25 mph "fun".
Coming Soon... Blur. A actually fun game worth playing.
Funny that sony were saying that their game was better than forza 3, then forza came out along with need for speed shift, and suddenly a release was out of the question. I think they saw those games and went back to the drawing board.

What are you talking about? GT5 was delayed one time, and it had nothing to do with FM3 or Shift. I own both games and Shift has an interesting approach to sense of speed, but handling itself is stupid, cars don't slide all over the place for no apparent reason, FM3 is great, but not without it's share of issues. The biggest one is power shifting(no lift shift) you can abuse that to high hell in online racing. What happened to the moving wing on the Bugatti, Enzo and SLR in FM3, they don't move for any reason...weird. GT has always been it's own thing, and will continue to be that. FM has always been a different take, claiming simulation better than GT, but how come your courses aren't accurately represented; Nurburgring being the most in accurately modeled course, almost as bad as PGR. GT4 had it right last generation, FM3 still doesn't get it right(smooth as butter, when the road surface is actually bumpy as hell). I'll grab my GT5 and add it to my collection, no matter what anyone has to say. It actually has night racing...
I'm sick and tired of people calling the Time Trial a demo! How was it a demo! Polyphony compressed and dubbed down the textures to make an easy size to download! How is that hard to understand!
