Ghost Recon 4 named 'Predator'

GRAW developer, Ubi Paris, taking the reigns, CVG learns
The proper title for Ubi's previously announced Ghost Recon '4' has been revealed as Ghost Recon Predator, thanks to Aussie ratings board OFLC.

CVG has learnt that the new game's being developed by Ubisoft's Paris team, which was responsible for the superb single-player campaign in the first Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (North Carolina-based Red Storm Entertainment handled GRAW 2).

The game, if you're interested, got an MA15+ rating for containing "strong violence". No further details have been revealed, but we expect more soon.

How has this got a rating, yet we've heard next to nothing about it?

I'd love to be in the business, I'll bet there's so much out there that we haven't a clue. Most industries run several iterations ahead of the stuff they release, so the video game industry can't be any different. You can bet there's a PS4 and Xbox 720 sitting on someone's desk somewhere. Maybe not the finished article, but you can bet it's a damn side further ahead than us plebs realise!

Maybe an Xbox 720...

Don't forget Sony have assured everyone that the PS3 would have a ten-year lifespan. Plenty of time yet before they have to think about prototypes for their next console.

Does this mean we wont see another PS launch until 2016/17?

We may never see the PS4, seeing as the world will end in 2012.

did i miss GRAW 3????!!!

An almost definite purchase for me...

I was addicted to the first two GRAW games but never played any of the earlier Ghost Recon titles. A lot of the old players moan that the advanced warfighter series had lost their realistic slant so I'm hoping this will be even more tactical and unforgiving!
PS3_fannyboy on 21 Oct '09
Err, yeah. Where's part three?
BeauBeau on 21 Oct '09
I think the GRAW games were part 3.

did i miss GRAW 3????!!!

No you didnt miss GRAW3 lol but I can see where the confusion is...
The 1st game was Ghost recon, then there was Island thunder.
Then they released Ghost recon 2 followed by Ghost recon summit strike.
Then they released Graw which was Ghost recon3 followed by Graw2.
So now they have announced Ghost recon 4...got it?

Anyway I really hope they go back to their roots and make this 1st Person like the originals, although Graw did look very good graphically but for me they need to make it a FPS again. I dont understand why they made Graw a FPS on p.c and why they think we console gamers want 3rd person shooters, Rainbow six was another one that went away from the realism of FPS.
Maybe its just me...?
