Sounds like the UK is a branch of a company... or are we a small division of the US of A? Or maybe we all wrote in and suggested Danny for the job. Or did our Prime Minister recommend him? Sometimes I just hate those Ameri....! Calm your jets, jenson! I would imagine they mean Ubisoft UK.
In most companies, you refer to the US arm as 'the US' etc...
Anyway, Danny Wallace is ok, if a little annoying. Only know him as 'Dave Gorman's mate' really, but I know he has done his own stuff since "Are You Dave Gorman?" Danny Wallace is my King! He set up his own country in his flat and I'm a citizen! Danny Wallace is a knob jockey who writes and spouts total shite. No idea who he is. No he isn't Blockbuster?
Oh, jeez... I see the video game industry has become as bad as the movie industry; calling things blockbusters before they're even out just because they assume they'll be a great success.
Again, I don't get all the fuss around this game. I really don't. I thought the Halo and Gears of War hype was bad, but at least they were halfway decent games even if they weren't God's gifts to gaming as the hype would suggest. The original Assassin's Creed was one of the biggest letdowns in gaming history in almost all aspects except the graphical ones (then again, that's all people seem to care about these days) and yet the sequel is still getting hyped as if it was a flawless masterpiece. To me, hyping up Assassin's Creed 2 is like if one hyped up a sequel to Shaq Fu or Superman 64.
It's almost as if when the gaming press expect a game to be a AAA title with something going for it they just deem it to be a triumph whether it is or not. Who cares if the game sucks... it was hyped as a kickass thing to come with innovative aspects and a lot of promise so let's just treat it like it was even though it was really a hunk of shit. Danny is currently standing in for Adam and Joe on BBC6Music, and you can get his weekly podcast highlights from the show on the BBC Radio website. It's rather good, and I recommend getting Adam and Joe's podcast when they come back in a couple of weeks - hilarious! I'd imagine that the character he's playing will be part of the present day sections, the name and nationality doesn't exactly scream renaissance Italy. The bloke's a tool but I reckon he could be quite good for this. I can see him as a sort of quirky, daft historian. This games being made in Canada, not the us, so all you uk guys can rest easily... I guess...
Anyways, this game looks excellent, never heard of this comedian but whatever, he must have some talent if they wanted him as a voice. well at least this isn't as bad as infinity ward getting 50 cent to do some voiceovers so its not Danny Wallace, the black guy who used to play for Southampton/Man Utd?...gutted  I can't help but think Stephen Fry would've made a better historical narrator for the sequel.
Then again, Stephen Fry can actually act, and with such terrible voice acting in the original maybe they want poor voice acting to be part and parcel of Ass Creed games. Oh, that and poor controls, poor camera angles, dull and easy game play, poor facial detail and animation, utterly unengaging story and boring combat!
Needless to say I couldn't have been more underwhelmed. Fortunately I only borrowed it. Mass Effect fooled me into thinking third-person games could be enjoyable. No wonder people have so many good things to say about Mass Effect. Seriously what does anyone see or enjoy about Ass-ass-in Bleed? |
