Why can't he just stick to what he knows? Did Activision charge him for his voice acting? It wouldn't surprise me. 'Hey, that'll be $2000', says 50 Cent, then Bobby Kotick comes in 'I think you misunderstand, sir, you owe ME $2000!'. 50 Cent, perplexed, says 'Why'. Kotick replies 'I will stop your next album being released under some bogus claim if you don't'.
You know it happened. Maybe this is why the rrp has gone up. Good to know our money is going to a good cause. It's neither a good thing or a bad thing, it's a whatever thing. People who get up in arms about it are being overly dramatic IMO. Oh god. One more thing that's putting me off. Nice. Now we will hear US soldiers mumbling unrecognisable nonsense. :) Bad thing - that man is a prize berk. Why spend cash on a tw@ like that when any unknown voice actor could do better for cheaper (and help keep those game prices down Activision!)
There's a reason that I can count on one hand the number of 'A'-list voiceovers in games that were passable, let alone good!
"Outstanding marines, out- f-ing -standing" bad thing if he got paid more than a regular voice actor would have.
they are selling out on this one. half the levels have been ripped straight out of famous action hollywood film sets.
he played a decent, unsuspecting role in righteous kill if anyone seen it (al pacino & robert di nero)
but they are just trying to bling this sequel up. this wont reach classic status like the more humble, expertly executed orignal i dont think. snow mobiles and all this... cheap action frills. This may be one area where Treyarch comes out on top.
Jack Bauer and Commissioner Gordon >>> 50 Cent. Cos they can't do that. These types of 'artists' have to do everything cos they're greedy f***ers. I remember when Samuel L Jackson had a beef about it years ago...
As for this game, well enough said Of course he did, but they're paying for the publicity rather than 50's questionable talent. We wouldn't be here talking about the game if John Smith from Barnet had done some voice acting! john smith from barnet is really big in japan. I loved his second album - genre defining stuff.
 If it's anything like his 'rapping' (Read mumbling) or his personality, it's a bad thing...Do you know he loves his girl like fat kid loves cake?!! That album can't be defined in my opinion. It highlighted the stupidity of our need to label things rather than sitting back and loving them for what they are. Mind-blowing album! 8) »
 sure modern warfare isn't based on gang land wars rather then millitary ones? lol
can hear it now! I'm gunna pop a cap in yo ass! lol at least it'll actually be 50 cent mumbling into my headset rather than those weird kids that mumble rap. but yeah this is pretty not needed. lets think about the voice acting for the black sarg in KZ2.........
"**** this shit"
"oh, hell no"
other black cliché's
this probably won't be any worse well i will be playin with the sound down i hate 50 pennce shiiiiit homies i don gone get a cap in ma ass!
Is this part of the new gangsta mode where you have to cap each other for bling and bitches.
I'll never forget when i saw fiddy at reading. We bottled the ******* into oblivion. Pretty sad behaviour IMO, but whatever makes you feel good! I'm sure he doesn't give a damn! :) Totally off topic but speaking of Reading, apparently Them Crooked Vultures might be appearing there. They're a 'supergroup' consisting of Josh Homme on vocals and guitar, Dave Grohl on drums and John Paul Jones on bass and other thingys. They played their first show last night and this review sounds like they're gonna be pretty good (though what else could you expect?)...
http://blogs.suntimes.com/derogatis/2009/08/them_crooked_vultures_at_metro.html Yeah - but, there's a lot of misinformation forming about them already. It wouldn't be too surprising if they made an appearance - the only gigs supposedly planned so far are rumoured to be in the UK.
:) no nigg@ talk plz. That's ****ing harsh. Using the n word is down right offensive and racist, you ****ing retard  as opposed to cracker he aint the lead; great article CVG. Way to stir up the hive!
heres a more reliable source:
http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/101/1012397p1.html Oh yeah, I know Parma. I've just been letting friends know about the rumoured UK tour. I live there so its fine by me :D
The review is real though. There are some rough and blurry vids on Youtube of them from the show.. **** off shouting racist as soon as someone makes a joke.
the "N word", give yourself a break. fag.
rap artists bounce the word around constantly and rake in the profit from it.
on a side note, one of the best lines from die hard with a vengeance... "nature-boy here hates nigg@z. now what are we gonna do about that?"
class film. haha bruce is touring with the sandwich board on. I want to know whether there'll be an album - I suspect there will.
Also, what impact will this have on Josh Homme remixing the QOTSA debut album? - he was supposed to do it last year, but put it back.
I've got a copy already, but I know a few people that don't - and they aren't keen on paying the eBay prices for it.
:) great one guys. now all you have to do is have a few marine dudes make out. thts the only way you can make it any gayer.
oh yh 7 kill streak is now a drive by, Dude, read the article (though I'm sure you have). The album is out October 23rd. I think that may be legit and also those songs they played may be pretty much all be on the album.
Its also funny you mention the remastered QOTSA album. I heard that too. Apparently its gonna ve released around 'fall' time. Not too far away from this then. I actually don't have it either though I do have the live performance of them playing 'Avon' with Grohl at Glastonbury in 2002 on my iPod.. I don't like 50 Cent but if he really did write that line then I might have to rethink things. I'm not a big fan on this guy but in his defense he acted pretty well in righteous kill when he had a scene or with with pacino and de niro. I would pay extra to see him get shot  Oh god, not this prat. Another possible reason why I give Modern Warfare 2 a miss wow. this is why game prices should be raised. to line the wallet of a **** while you have to listen to that **** whilst playing Yeah, I'm probably being a bit cynical and taking it all with a pinch of salt at the moment....I know a lot of the info is supposed to be a little dubious.
The first album is really good - it's a shame that people can't get hold of it easily. I mean, it isn't on the shelves, but they could at least get it up for download somewhere...I don't think it is at the moment.
:) Oh dear. Things just keep getting worse and worse for Modern Warfare 2! is it just me or does shenmue wipe its cock all over mw2 »
You mean the self titled debut? I've seen that in plenty of places in London. Not massively expensive either from memory.
Now the desert sessions, they ARE expensive. I saw 9&10 (the only original I have) and that was asking $100!! Thanks God they reissued them recently (albeit a single 12" for two volumes instead of the original 10" releases).
I haven't actually bought as QOTSA record since they decided to charge over £20 for Lullabies. Shocking!!
Sometimes labels or bands just don't seem to bother with reissues, even when there seems to be massive demand. Pavement's Wowee Zowee and Starsailor by Tim Buckley spring to mind. For Starsailor, CDs from 95 were going for similar money to an original LP from 1970.
In fact you're more likley to get vinyl reissues these days than CDs for a lot of people, Starsailor being a prime example.
But cool, I wasn't aware of this 'supergroup'. I saw members of Queen play with Foo Fighters in Hyde Park (I went to see QOTSA and with some weird hope that FF would do loads of the first album) a few years back, and it was shit. JPJ/LZ is an entirely different beast though! »»
I was at that gig too!
The debut album can sell for £40+ on eBay....the vinyl is cheaper, for some reason.
:) Well, Parma and Ric, its seems the October 23rd release date is actually a hoax. So Parma you're actually right with the dubious details mention. I reckon a release before or around November at the latest will be likely though...
As for both you guys being at Hyde Park for the Foos show, so was I! It was only my second Foos gig. They were also supposed to play 'No Way Back' and 'This Is A Call' (so at least one first album song Ric) but due to the rules of curfew, they cut those songs out. I had a blast that day. Saw them at Wembley too with Jimmy Page and Jon Paul Jones. That was so much better (and they played both those songs too)! I'm sure there will be an album, but October just sounded too soon (although, from what I understand it's an idea that Dave Grohl has had bouncing around since about 2005).
I enjoyed the Hyde Park gig too - I went mostly for QOTSA and I remember that they came on to 'Song for the Deaf' and played 'Mexicola' from the first album. Motorhead were great too. It was actually the second time I'd caught the Foo Fighters - but, I hadn't seen them since Reading in '95 (or '96), but I think that was only their second ever UK gig.
Does anyone know if there is another Desert Sessions album coming?, or if there are any plans to release the earlier ones on CD? (I don't really bother with vinyl anymore)....mind you, if there is, we'll be waiting a long time for another Queens album!
:) lol at parma, ric and juikuen for going off into their own little conversation! :D
On topic, I can't believe they thought it wud be a good idea to get 26.2 pence involved except to appeal to the people who play shooters because they get to shoot guns and 'blow shit up', rather than actual gamers who become immersed in the storyline and feel for the characters.
I think it's obvious by the comments on this article that no gamers really care that this nonce is involved in the game. It won't put me off getting the game, but it might put me off playing the multiplayer.
And anyone who assumed I wrote something other than nonce when they saw the n can go jump to conclusions off a cliff!!! Parma, I saw QOTSA at Leeds Uni last year and they were awesome. I remember the room feeling like it was tilting due to the way people were swaying.
My first Foos gig was in Manchester six months befre the Hyde Park show. I've seen them six times now. I don't know anything about the Desert sessions though...
Yeah adamp, I just veered off after I think Monkey mentioned Reading fest. I don't care so much for the game. Its become even less credible now due to this guy being involved. I did enjoy your exact currency conversion of his name though and the following comment :D I just went on HMV.com and saw 9&10 for £7.99. Older ones are vinyl only and you still can't get 7&8.
Still, when I buy a vinyl I get on emule, guilt free, download the mp3s and then I'm off.
I was hammered by the time FF came on, and Hyde Park is too big really. I was supposed to see FF in 95 as my brothers girlfriend worked for the trucking company, but it was a school night and mum wouldn't let me go! Then I would've got my wish of purely first album material!!
Got backstage at RHCP and a few others though, which when you're 16 gives you amazing bragging rights at school!
I'd recommend Dinosaur Jr for the best live 'rock' band I've seen. And this was seeing them as old men, not in their 80's pomp! Scrap that, Slint doing Spiderland from start to finish was the best gig I've ever been to. I've managed to find 7&8 on CD - can't remember where, but it was worth it just for 'Polly Wants a Crack Rock', 'Up in Hell' and 'Making a Cross'...it's a great album.
Jui, Desert Sessions are another of Josh Hommes supergroups - definitely recommended.
I think the best gig I ever went to would be The Stone Roses in '96....just an amazing atmosphere. Soundgarden were great too.
:) My older friends would argue 'you should've seen em in 89' etc etc! I've never understood the fuss to be honest, although all great musicians!
I've got them all the Desert Sessions stuff on mp3, if they won't release it they're not losing money and I'll buy it when it's reissued!
I've got Eagles and some Kyuss stuff. My most prized out of that lot is my original Masters of Reality debut LP - more for the good memories of discovering music outside or the pop charts than anything else. Being the youngest child does have it's advantages! |
