I feel so much better now. Yeah, we get a horrible deal in Europe. If all else fails, though, you can buy an American or Japanese PSN card, which works for everything except the video store. I heard that Symphony of the Night is on the US store. Does anyone know if this is true. I would love to be able to download it. I have the XBL version but the controller doesnt suit this type of 2D game. The PS1 version is one of my all time favorite games. @ TeamVance
I have just checked and , unfortunately, it is not. ah well. can only hope. cheers for looking. Castlevania SOTN is on the US store (just check the ps 1 section). I got it on live recently, one of the most enjoyable games I've played in a long while. Yeah we already know all this the question that keeps being avoided is "Why do thes companeys and SOEE have such a problem releasing stuff here in EU, yet the same companys and MS can do it just fine and within a week on the 360??????????" Its been there for two years..
Well at least they understand our frustrations. and probably share them. Europe gets shafted so often over nearly everything...it makes you wonder why they bother on the whole. You'd think the region made them enough money, yet we are always treated second class behind US and JPN.
Its not just Sony, but other companies as well.
Thinking about it..America is a single country, and as such the rights for things dont need to be split up. Europe on the other hand is a myriad of countries. Perhaps trying to get a game rights here is rather like trying to publish a super robot taisen game anywhere but in Asia.
sorry..im rambling So why are we having to wait at least a week longer than the US for the sodding patch for Fat Princess then? It's not even a whole game fer cripes sake.
Rubbish. Just Rubbish. Quit the jibber jabber and give us Metal Gear Solid! 8) Why on earth if it can be released in the USA - can it not be released in Europe - 99% of people in Europe can read English!?
C. This doesnt really answer any questions, but feels rather more like a vague politician's reply which says nothing.
Its understandable how there'd be problems in getting localised versions of all the different games to all the different European Playstation stores at the same time, so a delay is perhaps inevitable.
But then, as pointed out, Microsoft manage to release their content almost worldwide at the same time, often before the PSN launches the same content, so that argument doesn't end up carrying a lot of weight either.
Its just lucky that my virtual credit card works for the US store ;p I want to know if they plan to release the PC Engine/Turbografix games to Europe, as they never offiacially were released here originally? Surely in this digital download age that shouldn't be a problem??? so how do you go about getting games from the US PSN store in the UK. "so how do you go about getting games from the US PSN store in the UK."
Create a new account with a US address (any will do although I went for New Hampshire as they don't pay sales tax). Then either get a card off EBay or use a virtual credit card such as Entropay. You need an unused email too. 1 not linked to another PSN account. Set up a hotmail or something You either need an American credit card or a US PSN card, the latter of which is available from ebay in denominations of $20 or $50. A $20 is about £15 and a $50 is about £35. You also need to set up a US PSN account. To do that, create a new user profile and go to the area where it says 'Sign up for PlayStation network'. When you get to select the country that you live in, simply change it to United States. For email address, make sure you use a different one to your Europe account. On address, I believe that now you can just make it all up as it doesn't check, but if it does, just go on a big American company's website and put in their address and ZIP code. The rest is pretty straightforward. The only drawback is that you cannot download videos from the US, but that shouldn't matter anyway since we get our video store soon. The games are all fine to download, though. If you are interested, you can do the same for a Japanese account, where can also buy Japanese PSN cards from ebay, although they cost a little more. Yes thats true you can put in any address and it will work, I created a Hong Kong account and put my address as 10 Downing street and used total gibberish for my US account and it worked fine and now I'm playing Metal Gear Solid on my PSP :D |
