Unless you're a serious fan of Sega's Shinobi series, you probably won't be bouncing off the walls for this week's Nintendo downloads. On the bright side - you'll have saved some points.
Here are the official details of today's three new titles:
WiiWARE - Bonsai Barber (NINTENDO, 1000 Wii Points) You are the Bonsai Barber, a newcomer in a village of friendly organic folk who like nothing better than getting their branches, leaves and twigs trimmed into the latest styles
Fresh customers arrive each day, demanding your unique services. Go with their suggested style or choose from dozens of others, and then set to work with your Wii Remote: scissors to trim back the foliage, clippers to finish off the edges, and a paintbrush to add a splash of colour. And if you slip up, simply use the water spray to re-grow the leaves!
Building a rapport with your clients is fruitful, too. Keep up the good work and they may send you a postcard or even a souvenir from their holiday. But miss an appointment and they'll make their feelings known via the Wii Message Board
VIRTUAL CONSOLE - The Revenge of Shinobi (SEGA MEGA DRIVE, SEGA, 800 Wii Points) In this classic SEGA MEGA DRIVE platformer you play as Joe Musashi, a ninja out to avenge his teacher's death and destroy the evil Shadow Master and his criminal empire, "Neo Zeed".
A sequel to the arcade favourite Shinobi, you once again traverse varied environments, including the bamboo forests of Japan and the streets of New York City. Fight your way through enemies by swinging your katana, throwing shurikens and performing special Ninjutsu moves! Battle unique bosses and progress through each stage to reach the final confrontation against the head of Neo Zeed - the Shadow Master.
NINTENDO DSiWARE - City Transport Map Volumes 1 & 2 - 2009 (NINTENDO, 500 DSi Points each) Find your way around five major European cities with ease, and have fun, with this handy collection of official transport maps.
Volume 1 features Paris, Rome, Dublin, Madrid and Lisbon. Volume 2 features London, Amsterdam, Prague, Moscow and Berlin. Both include routes for trains, subways, trams and airport shuttles (depending on the city). Scroll around the maps easily with the Touch Screen and Stylus, and search by line or station name.
But that's not all. Drop markers onto favourite places, or attach a handwritten note to an interesting location. Snap a photo with Nintendo DSi Camera and pin it anywhere on the map - perfect for travelogues. Or take the Route Quiz and test your city transport knowledge!
Revenge of shinobi is an amazing game! Used to love it as a kid playing it on the mega cd, I could never complete it, but I was about 5 years old, might have to download if I can't get my mega cd to work...
