Only for another dev to pick up the spin-off licence (with all the best teams) for next to nothing.
Chances are that they'll all stay at F1, but still...
  I never thought of that! Codemasters must be sweating on this for sure. I can't see the teams splitting up to be honest, although Renault seem to be adamant.
As for the game itself, I have to ask: Why do all of Codemasters racers look over-saturated? It isn't a graphical effect that I find appealing. Those are clearly concept art, not in-game shots. As concept art it's not too bad, but if it was a screenshot then I'd be asking why #2 looks like a 1950's photograph.
But Mark240473 has a point - lots of brown and lots of bloom does not equal realism. Their damage model is great, just a sham they have to ruin it with overdone HDR effects and unbelievable physics. I don't quite understand why they need concept art - surely there's nothing they can get from that they can't get from photos and onboard cameras. Fitting that they release screenshots of Silverstone (see map on TV in 1st pic) over the British GP weekend. I like the effect going on. Too many racers try to be realistic. If the visual effects were a bit "different" we would be concentrating on the gameplay more and less on the graphics. Still think Codemasters are too much the master of lightweight, unrealistic, arcade racers, and not suited to an F1 game. I'll keep my fingers crossed they break the mould with this one and actually attempt to make the cars feel like they have some weight. Hi,
Helios the Codemasters Community Manager here, just wanted to confirm that the shots are indeed pieces of concept art and are NOT in-game screens. I think COdemasters need to push the release date forward, just incase things do get messy with the deal with FOTA and FIA. I'm still getting this no matter what, finally a Formula One game, Playstation shouldn't of bought the rights if they weren't going to do anything with it-.-
Nice concepts nontheless. Show some of the juicy stuff Codemasters. |
