Images of Midway's Necessary Force arise

Midway Newcastle game needs to find a publisher soon
After releasing a movie last week, Midway Newcastle's released some concept images of its in-development open-world cop game, Necessary Force. See them below (and the movie if you missed it).

According to reports the Geordie developer has until the end of the month to secure investors or it will be forced to cancel the game and close shop.

The developer said of the game: "The idea of a detective who sets his own rules is the sort of story that's been around in movies for a while, but we don't think anyone's managed to capture the essence of those choices and consequences in games."

In the paper and crayon stage at least, we think it looks lovely. Fingers crossed it gets a publisher.

This should secure a publisher no doubt, it looks lovely.

Midway Newcastle needs to stay open, or reopen shop as a new team, this game looks awesome, and clearly there is some exceptional staff members in the team.

Well, if they're trying to drum up excitement, consider me excited! I enjoyed Wheelman... yes, I did. It wasn't perfect, but the racing in it was pure genius. If they apply the same brains to this, it's surely something worth completing. Good luck to them!

I completely agree! F*ck GTA, this is the open-world game I want to play. The pictures and backgrounding have the basis for one of the best games EVER!!

The artwork looks similar to the Stranglehold concept work. Wonder if its the same guy.
Nice locations just hope they have a game in there somewhere.

Come on MS or Sony, do something useful with your money for a change and buy a developer who look like they can actually deliver a top quality title!

I think this looks pretty special to be honest. How many games let you play a cop in an open world game? Not many and the game at night looks completely different to the daylight shots. Let us hope the mood changes with the night/day cycle.

Hope a publisher buys them this looks pretty awesome. Maybe Take Two could put up an offer?

It's Mike f*cking Haggar from Final Fight in the first pic! That alone makes this a must-buy :)

And @AJB:
Back in the day I really enjoyed the original Urban Chaos game, where you played a cop fighting against waves of gangs. I know there was a sequel but I never played it and I don't think the franchise sold massively. But the concept was sound, and if this was a sort of reincarnation of that, I'd definitely consider it.

Wow that does sound good. I wonder how much they want for the studio because I would definately be interesting in investing in this...
