Packaging Our Products

Air Liquide Australia offers it’s many specialty gas products in a wide variety of containers selected to best serve your needs. Because many of the gases we produce are somewhat unique, selection of the best packaging must be based on several different key criteria :

Safety: The safety of each and every customer, as well as that of those who handle or transport our products, is of the upmost importance. Selection of the correct container and the proper valve is determined by recommendations from such groups as ANZIGA (Australian and New Zealand Industrial Gas Association) , Australian Standards and the ADG (Australian Dangerous Goods Code). When these guidelines do not cover a particular product, we often rely on the extensive experience and expertise within the Air Liquide organization to select the proper container.

Compatibility : Since many specialty gases can be corrosive or reative in nature, it is important that containers and valves do not react with the product or alter it’s properties. When compatible, cylinders or valves made from mild steel, aluminium, brass or stainless steel may be used in the packaging of your requested product(s). For those gases that are incompatible with ordinary materials, the passivation of the cylinder walls may be employed. For certain products, Air Liquide’s unique ALPHATECHTM passivation process may be used to provide stability to the product.

Customer Convenience : For most gases, the choice of packaging is dependent upon your requirements. You chose from one of our many different cylinder sizes or opt for larger volumes in multi-cylinder packs, tube trailers or even cryogenic liquid containers for some pure gases.
