 Digimon Season Two, or Digimon Adventure 02, starts four years after the first season. T.K. and Kari are now older, as are the original DigiDestined from season one. Three new DigiDestined, Davis, Yolei and Cody, are chosen to help rid the Digital World of the Digimon Emperor's rule. Because The Digimon Emperor has set up Control Spires, Digimon cannot Digivolve regularly, so the DigiDestined must retrieve their DigiEggs to help their Digimon Digivolve into Armor Digimon!
The Digimon Emperor is in actuality a DigiDestined kid named Ken Ichijouji. Ken's brother, Sam, and him had found a Digivice in their room one day after it had appeared through their computer. Ken picked it up and was sent to the Digital World where he met Wormmon, and had to defeat Millenniummon. After Millenniummon was killed, spores were released into the air that affected Ken. Sam died in a car accident soon after. At Sam's funeral, Oikawa spotted Ken, knowing he was a DigiDestined. Later Oikawa sent him an email reminding him of the Digital World. With the sorrow Ken has sealed himself in, he traveled to the Digital World once again, but the Dark Spore sent him to the World of Darkness. There, Ken's Dark Spore was able to activate at full power.
Ken is cleansed of the darkness after Wormmon is killed and slowly joins up with the group to help repair the Digital World. Arukenimon and Mummymon show up and send evil Digimon their way to try and destroy them, which Arukenimon had created using Ken's old Control Spires. Arukenimon creates BlackWarGreymon, who rebels and destroys the Destiny Stones, trying to find the ultimate opponent and purpose for life. Azulongmon was released and tells the DigiDestined of a much worse evil.
Digimon start to appear all over Earth. The DigiDestined make their way across the real world joining up with other DigiDestined from different countries and battling the lost Digimon, returning them to their home. They venture back to Japan, to battle Arukenimon and Mummymon once again. This time they're aided by their creator, Oikawa. Oikawa want to copy the Dark Spores and give to to all the children of the world, but Daemon and his minions show up and want the Spores for their own reasons. The DigiDestined, with Ken's help, send Daemon to the World of Darkness, but Oikawa escapes with copies of the Dark Spore.
Oikawa implants the Dark Spore in a group of kidnapped children. After a long battle, BlackWarGreymon knows what his purpose is, and sacrifices himself to lock the gate of the Digital World. Oikawa tries to open a DigiPort, but instead they are all taken to a different dimension. There, Myotismon surfaces from Oikawa's body and reveals he has been controlling Oikawa. He uses the energy of the Dark Spores to evolve himself into MaloMyotismon. MaloMyotismon then tried to infect both worlds with evil and darkness, but the kidnapped children and DigiDestined's dreams of hope destroy his physical form. Imperialdramon was then able to finish him off.
Ending with a shot of the future, 25 years later, the adult DigiDestined and their own children now all have Digimon!
