(not quite sure what this is although it's some sort of a project between Fiscobase and Coopers & Lybrand, and appears to be about fiscal data; work-in-progress with nothing substantial yet...)

(an electronic service provided by the company Tecnologias e Serviços de Telecomunicações supporting over-the-Net purchases, electronic banking, publicity, and access to video games, among others; is also a Web provider)

(a commercial directory of Portuguese companies on the Net--unfortunately, it only seems to point to one bookstore and a loosely-planned coalition of art galleries)

[Luso-Brazilian Books] Luso-Brazilian Books
(offering books, videos, and dictionaries from Portugal and Brazil, this on-line service allows you to order a catalog on-line; the Web page is broken out by Brazilian literature in English and Portuguese, book about Brazil and Brazilian music, Portuguese dictionaries, African writers, and so on)

[Lusa] Ex Libris
(a Brazilian bookstore on the Internet; has look-up available by book title, author, and subject; allows purchases to be made on-line;of course, many books in Portuguese)

[Lusa] Livraria Nobel
(another Brazilian bookstore on the Web that allows purchases to be made on-line; has a best-seller list)

[Lusa] Introdução à Internet, Livro Português na Internet
(already in its second edition, this book in Portuguese goes through what the Internet is to how you can get an account on the Web; actually contains the first chapter on-line as well as a short section--not in the book--on how to avoid some expenses when using the Internet)

[Lusa] Suprides Computer Store
(a PC computer store in Lisbon and Porto; page has current list of prices as well as promotional packages; you can also register your email address to receive computing information and sales information; the letter colors and background make it somewhat difficult to read)

(a computing consulting company that provides programming and well as course work; contains links to a number of the sites they maintain or have constructed)

(a Web design company; the site has a directory of links to pages they have designed; up until recently there was a live camera in their office--guess it got too personal...)

(an ISP and Web/Internet consulting company designing and hosting Web sites; also maintains a BBS and sells PC hardware)

[Lusa] D Q A, Gestão Organizacional e Design
(a consulting company with various facets: Web design, building-conservation, quality management, and environmental impact reporting; contains links to various sites it has worked with or maintains)

[Lusa] Escripóvoa - Software House
(a software development and consulting company located in Póvoa de Varzim; included on this Web page is some downloadable freeware as well as descriptions of their restaurant management and astrological software)

[Lusa] EDINFOR
(a software development and consulting company wholly owned by the electrical company EDP; they work a lot with databases, Unix, IBM MVS, and SAP)

(a Web page design company whose customers have included Valentim de Carvalho, the Italian embassy in Lisbon, and Cigar Trading)

[Lusa] Spiff Design Interactivo
(the home page for this Web-designing consulting group based in Lisbon, text in both Portuguese and English; has some pretty cool graphics, if I may say so myself...)
[Lusa] Espaço Lusitano
(a Web-design group, their home page contains a list of the CGI scripts written in PERL they have and a description of their prices although they do not list current customers; I assume they're in Portugal but their address was nowhere to be found)

(a Web design and Internet consulting group; this page has descriptions of several of their products and services as well as lists of customers and links to pages they have built; you can also obtain estimates online)

(António specializes in Web and Internet consulting, electronic brochures and Windows software development)

(BSI provides a Web banner service as well as specializing in other electronic publicity methods)

(an Internet Service Provider [ISP] that houses home pages from private individuals to companies; has a text search engine available on most pages; also has discussion forums, advertisements, and virtual shops)

(a web site design, photography, and communications company in Madeira)

(swap-a-banner for Portuguese sites; not a commercial effort but, for now, this is the best category to list this under; related to Gertrudes and Top Lusíadas)

(a hardware and software vendor in Braga focusing on multimedia PC equipment)

(a publisher of law databases in Portugal with an on-line service that lists summaries of recently-passed laws [login and password required]; also has a program for preparing the documentation of the IRS; has a directory of other homepages on legal issues; prices are shown for most services and downloads)

(a service provided by the United States Embassy and the U.S. Foreign Commerce Service for those wishing to invest in Portugal; unfortunately, it only lists a number of services and a short description but one cannot obtain any details; it would appear that this is under construction; occasionally called FocusEurope)

[BNU] Banco Nacional Ultramarino
(the home page for this Portuguese bank, it describes a little about its history, services, and electronic access capabilities)

[DataFile] Datafile Portugal
(as it says, it's an executive's summary of business news; these folks have been collecting statistics on business in Portugal and have them available via a paying database even though some are available "de borla"; also include data on tourism in Portugal and items related to Portuguese-speaking Africa)

[Lusa] Portuguese Embroideries[New]
(a typically Portuguese item--embroideries can be found in any Portuguese household; this site contains samples and prices of what they offer, namely bedsheets, nightshirts, and so on)

[Lusa] Loja do Vinho[New]
(a collection of wines offered by The Portuguese Wine Store; contains lists of wines with descriptions and prices in US dollars, broken out by area; includes ordering information as well; in English)

[Lusa] Soccer, Darts, and Lottery
(as you might guess, a home page geared toward gambling in the above-mentioned areas in Portugal and Canada, among other countries; available in frame-based and non-frame formats)

[Lusa] Team Ducati GALP
(the GALP motor oil-sponsored team's home page; contains a couple short biographies of current racers for the motorbike Team Ducati, a calendar of races, a news about their races; in English and Portuguese)

[Lusa] Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira
(the home page of the Madeira Development Company, it explains who the group is what is doing and what services it provides; also contains links to other business and Madeira pages)

[Lusa] Madeira's International Business Centre
(a site dedicated to the promotion of Madeira, its people and resources; provides financial, industrial, and shipping register functions; also contains links to other Madeira commercial, non-commercial, and cultural resources)

[Lusa] Forno's Travel Agency
(run by the Forno family and located in Ontario, Canada, this Portuguese travel agency offers trips and packages to Portugal; at this point they're promoting trips to Expo98 in Lisbon)

[Lusa] SATA -- Air Açores
(the complete set of data related to this airline: contains schedules, prices, reservations, and even a history of the company; you can even make your reservations online)

[Lusa] Algarve-WEB
(devoted to the commercial aspects of the Algarve, it contains pictures and information about real estate for sale, house/apartment rental, locations for sports, etc.; also related is Algarve Gold)

[Lusa] Gabinete de Documentacão Técnica
(a company specializing in technical translations, particularly in the area of health; contains a set of links to health-related sites; also has a set of common errors in technical translations)
[Lusa] Casa de Lamas
(a XIII/XIV century house in the Braga district, it has belonged to the same family for 600 years; several rooms are available for rent; this home page contains a number of pictures as well as information on the surrounding area and how to make reservations)

(A XVII century house that is available for rent; this homepage describes the property and shows some nice pictures)

[Lusa] The Inn at Maplewood Farm
(in New Hampshire, it's an inn built in the late XVIII century and has all the amenities you would expect; this page is in Portuguese but links to the main ones in English)

[Lusa] Pestana Hotels & Resorts
(the picture-intensive home page of this group of hotels and golf courses; has rental details on-line)

[Lusa] Segminho Seguros
(the homepage for this insurance company which offers auto, home, commercial, health, and accident insurance; allows some calculations to be performed online)

[Lusa] Real Seguros
(this insurance company offers various personal, car, and home insurance packages; offers on-line simulations of its products with costs, income, and so on; you should have a Java-enabled browser to see the full effect)

[Lusa] Jornal de Anúncios Internet
(focusing mostly on real estate, it's an online advertising page; contains prices, locations, and email addresses where available)

[Lusa] Overseas Courier Service
(as you might expect, it's a courier service; has branches in Lisbon, Porto, and Leiria)

[Lusa] Logigrama's Traduções[New]
(a commercial venture that charges by the word; can translate to and from Portuguese and languages such as English, German, Dutch, Spanish--even continental Portuguese to Brazilian Portuguese at one cent per word!)
