Making a Difference Worldwide

JS logoimage copy.jpgFrom the campuses of our seminaries, men eagerly enter the mission field to lead congregations and engage the world with the truth that Jesus Christ alone is Savior of the world!

It is for this reason that we press forward with great purpose and zeal in our support of pastoral education through our two seminaries in the United States and our partner churches around the world.

Focused on the pastoral needs of the church, its people, and the world—today and for generations to come—pastoral education entails ongoing curriculum development and materials; constructing and operating education facilities; providing salaries and stipends for faculties; delivering distance education; providing student aid, student and instructor housing.

Collectively, gifts make a critical difference at our seminaries.  In turn, our seminaries work diligently in preparing messengers to proclaim the Word that creates faith and changes lives forever!

In the United States…

Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN, together, are the primary source of pastors and leaders serving over 6,100 congregations, educational institutions, service organizations and ministries of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.

By the year 2009, one-third of all current LCMS pastors are eligible for retirement.  By 2019, another third of our current pastors will reach retirement age.

Pastors serve congregations and communities in the United States and throughout the world as parish pastors, church planters, missionaries, chaplains, professors and church leaders.

Beyond our American borders…PartnerChurchPeople.jpg

Today, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod prepares indigenous leaders of partner churches to manage their own Gospel outreach and prepare their own pastors, teachers and evangelists.  Who better knows the culture, how to influence people and how to best spread the Gospel message into the community than its own members?

In an increasing number of areas, seminaries and local training centers are needing our support:
