Toronto 103 Knicks 95: The march to the end continued with another loss and another lack of defense. Zach Randolph didn’t play again (wink wink) but surprisingly Randoph Morris spent the night sitting on the bench. It’s clear from things like the 18-minute shoot-around the other day that Isiah simply doesn’t care anymore. And while that isn’t necessarily a surprise and may not even cost him a job in the organization, it is disappointing to......

Flyers 4 Rangers 3 (Shootout): Do you judge success by the final score or the effort it took to get there? Clearly, the final score is a disappointment, but when you consider the Rangers were trailing 2-0 with less than 10 minutes left, getting a point is somewhat of a victory. New York got back into the game with goals from Marek Malik and Nigel Dawes, but fell behind 3-2 when Daniel Briere scored at......

The Knicks keep finding new and interesting ways to lose. Monday’s 110-98 loss saw them shoot the lights out from three-point range, hitting 47%, but miss a lot of shots from inside the arc, hitting less than 40%. Zach Randolph had a nice game, scoring 21 points and pulling down 14 rebounds while Wilson Chandler continued his development with an up-and-down night that saw him score 15 points. But, the real news of the day......

Knicks 91 Heat 88: Even when they win, they lose. At this point there is nothing left to play for except a better draft pick and the Knicks hurt those chances with a win over the worst team in the NBA. Add it in the fact that it was the one-year anniversary of Isiah Thomas’ contract extension with the team and you probably won’t feel like celebrating anymore. Nate Robinson had 17 points, Jamal Crawford......

Portland 120 Knicks 114 (OT): The Knicks went into this game shorthanded, no Zach Randolph, no Eddy Curry, no Jamal Crawford. But, even without three starters they almost pulled out the win thanks to Nate Robinson’s 45-point game. Robinson played an amazing 52 minutes in the game and the Knicks used only eight players, even with the extra period. Mavericks 111 Nets 91: Jason Kidd got his first crack at his old team and he......

Devils 2, Lightning 1 (OT): With rivals Montreal and Pittsburgh idle, New Jersey saw its win vault it back into first place in the Eastern Conference. Credit goes out to Patrik Elias, who scored the game-winner in overtime and assisted on the earlier strike. The Devils' sitting atop the playoff race isn't a schedule fluke, either. They have a game in hand on the Penguins and the same number as the Canadiens. Pistons 101, Knicks......

The Knicks clinched a losing record for the season with their 100-88 defeat Monday, but what happened off the court was much more interesting. Stephon Marbury, the pariah point guard who was reportedly banned from MSG, was supposed to show up tonight. At the morning shootaround Isiah told reporters, “We expect him here tonight,” when discussing Marbury. And, true to form, Marbury made his coach look bad again by not showing up at all. While......

Magic 118, Knicks 92: If the Knicks can't get motivated for games when they haven't played the night before, what makes anyone think they would appear energized for the second half of a back-to-back? One night after losing at Atlanta, New York put forth a token effort and even led by five in the second quarter, but it then fell back to Earth and got crushed. Orlando's Dwight Howard dominated the Knicks -- who were......

Atlanta 99 Knicks 93: They simply couldn’t bring this one home. Ahead 91-90 with less than three minutes in the game, the Knicks went cold on both ends of the floor and lost. Jamal Crawford made two turnovers, missed two shots and totally blew a defensive assignment as the Hawks went up 94-91 with 34 second left. The Knicks got the ball back and went inside to Randolph who already had 29 points, but he......

Rangers 5 Panthers 0: For the second-consecutive weekend the Rangers played two games and emerged with four point. Sunday they completely dominated Florida on both ends of the ice as they cruised to an easy win. Five different Rangers scored goals and ten different Rangers had points in the win. Brandon Dubinsky showed his versatility when he pulled Sean Avery away from a fight, only to step into the action on his own. Dubinsky fought......

Knicks 103 Raptors 99: This was a strange game. The Knicks scored a season-low 12 points in the first quarter and it appeared they would turn in another embarrassing performance in a season full of them. But, they got off the mat and scored a season-high 40 points in the second quarter and kept it up from there. Jamal Crawford poured in 43 points and Zach Randolph added 26 points and 15 rebounds. The only......

Montreal 6 Rangers 5 (Shootout): It is impossible to believe that New York let this one get away. When Chris Drury buried his 20th goal of the year into the Montreal net at 5:03 of the second period it put the Rangers up 5-0 and appeared to turn the game into a foregone conclusion. But, Montreal battled back as Michael Ryder scored two goals in the second period to cut the deficit to 5-2. The......

Pacers 103, Knicks 100: Remember in the 90s when these teams enjoyed one of the best rivalries in sports? Those were the days. In 2008, they're playing to see who can have the longest losing streak. The biggest loser: the Knicks. They have now lost seven straight, the same streak the Pacers brought into this game. Zach Randolph turned in an inspired effort of 26 points, but he and his teammates didn't appear motivated on......

Knicks 89 Philadelphia 76ers 81: The Knicks enjoyed a team effort in defeating another struggling Eastern Conference team, the Sixers. Five players scored in the double digits, led by Jamal Crawford's 18 pounts and Zach Randolph's 16 points and 14 rebounds. Coach Isiah Thomas said, "We have good shot distribution, everyone feels part of the game, everyone gets to touch the basketball." Late in the fourth quarter, the Knicks' 10 point lead was cut......

Knicks 111 Nets 105: Something’s different with the Knicks. Not only did they win their third-straight game (a season high) Wednesday, but they did it with a comeback. New Jersey jumped out to a 15-point lead at the end of the first quarter and the Knicks responded. For some reason, they didn’t pack it in like they have on so many other nights. Jamal Crawford led the way with 35 points and eight assists, including......

Knicks 89, Pistons 65: Fans leaving Madison Square Garden on Sunday night had to be asking each other, "Where are the Knicks and what have they done with them?" Normally New York outscores its opponents by 18 in a quarter only when it is down by 25 or so. But the Knicks' 28-10 advantage in the third period helped them put this game out of reach from one of the Eastern Conference's elite teams. Zach......

Celtics 86, Nets 77: Maybe the Nets should play as well in the even quarters as they do in the odd periods. New Jersey got outscored 23-9 in the fourth quarter and fell to the 30-4 Celtics. Josh Boone did well -- except when he was at the free-throw line. He had 14 points and 16 rebounds in 37 minutes, but he went 0-for-6 from the stripe. The Nets as a team made only 9......

Rockets 101 Knicks 92: At least the fans had a couple of things to cheer about Wednesday. Giants’ running back, Brandon Jacobs got a standing ovation and Isiah Thomas got thrown out. Thomas was upset over the fact that Yao Ming wasn’t called for a charge and wandered onto the court, earning the ejection. Thomas may have had a case, but with his team only behind by three, it was a bad time to......

Edmonton 3 Rangers 2 (shootout): Pinching defensemen have become a vital part of the Rangers’ offense and Dan Girardi showed that again Saturday. With New York stymied offensively and losing 1-0 midway in the third, Girardi came in and put the puck on net. The bounce was odd, but the result was good as the Rangers tied the game at 1. Unfortunately for New York, Ryan Hollweg took a stupid boarding penalty and his five-minute......

Rangers 4 Montreal 3 (OT): The Rangers played one of their most uneven games of the season, but they turned it on when they needed to and got the win. Daniel Girardi and Jaromir Jagr scored in the first period to give New York a 2-1 lead heading into the second. And that’s where the Rangers went to sleep, getting only one shot in the period while the Canadiens built a 3-2 lead. That’s where......

Rangers 4 Carolina 2: Putting Gomez on the top line certainly looked like a smart decision Wednesday. Gomez fed Jarmoir Jagr, helping him get nine shots and setting him up on both of his goals in the Rangers’ win. Chris Drury and Dan Girardi also scored for New York. The game was stopped midway through the second period after an ugly collision between Colton Orr and former Ranger Matt Cullen. Cullen took this worst of......

Lakers 95 Knicks 90: The light bulb has finally gone on for Isiah and he admitted after the game that “maybe we have the wrong guys starting right now.” Why it took this long to click is another question, but Sunday offered definitive proof that changes in the lineup need to be made. The Lakers cruised to a 70-45 lead and then had to hang on against a Knicks’ rally that happened with the unit......

You know what makes the Pacers special? They actually had the brains to admit their mistake and fire Isiah. The Knicks haven’t figured that out and Monday’s 119-92 humiliation probably won’t change things. And it isn’t so much that they lost to the Pacers, it’s the way they did. They played a good first quarter, went cold in the second rallied to tie the game at 64 and then stopped competing. Zach Randolph had 26......

Knicks 94 Nets 86: Stop the presses, the Knicks have a winning streak against the Nets and this win came with Jason Kidd in the lineup. Saturday night went so well that the crowd never had to unleash the “fire Isiah” chants or anything else directed towards the Knicks’ management. Jamal Crawford led the way with 32 points and Zach Randolph added 20. Even Eddy Curry looked interested with 23 points and 9 rebounds,......

Nets 105, Cavaliers 97: Maybe the Nets should wear their road uniforms at home more often. The Nets' last win before Friday came at Cleveland, but that was when the Cavs didn't have LeBron James. Cleveland had its star on the court at Izod Arena, but the Nets had theirs, too. Vince Carter had 32 -- tying a season high -- and James "settled" for 29. Josh Boone put in 15 for New Jersey, though......

Sonics 117, Knicks 110: Knicks fans deserve a lot of credit. No one's pointing out how hard it is to chant "Fire Isiah." That phrase has a ton of vowel sounds. They held off for part of this game, but at the end, the result was the same. Zach Randolph is the only self-respecting Knick, though Jamal Crawford has been putting up better numbers with Stephon Marbury still out. The sum of the parts is......

Mavericks 99, Knicks 89: Are James Dolan and Isiah Thomas watching the same team the fans are? More boos were heard in Madison Square Garden during the latest Knicks debacle. But James Dolan and Isiah Thomas don't seem to hear them -- or feel the "Fire Isiah" chants are justified. What more evidence do they need? A loss to the Mavericks, the team that finished with the best record in the NBA last season, wouldn't......

Knicks 100, Nets 93: No Stephon Marbury, and the Knicks take down the Nets. Of course, the Nets didn't have Jason Kidd (headache), so who knows which team was worse off. Richard Jefferson's heroics couldn't get the job done for the Nets, who continue to play inexplicably poorly at home following road games. Jamal Crawford filled the backcourt "void" for the Knicks with 29 points, and Zach Randolph had 25. Richard Jefferson had 31 points......

A day after the tragic death of Stephon Marbury's father Donald, some more details have come to light regarding his final moments. Knicks officials insist that Stephon's family asked the team not to notify him of his father's condition until after the game. Apparently this was not the first time Donald Marbury had suffered from chest pains like these. Donald was taken from The Garden right before the third quarter began, but the team only......

Knicks 113 Utah 109: Now we get it. The plan was to flash some early success and then create more headlines with manufactured drama and a big losing streak. Then, the Knicks would rise off the mat, run of a huge winning streak and make the playoffs. Unfortunately, it’s not quite that simple. Yes, the Knicks are now on a winning-streak with their victory Monday, but that is more a function of bad Utah defense......
