It's "the first in a series of shows designed to promote critical and creative dialogues about fashion. MOVIE: It's certainly not the kind of night for an outdoor movie, so we suggest sitting in the cool a/c and watching the 1978 classic Dawn of the Dead. "Gone is the possibility of mankind’s dominance in this sequel to Night of the Living Dead; the zombies are in control now, with a group of AWOL soldiers and TV producers on the run from the staggering hordes. A deserted shopping mall offers a safe hideout,......

READINGS: Russell Simmons has written a self-help book and will be at Border's today promoting it (okay, now all of this recent noise he's making makes more sense)! It's called "Do You! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success." None of the laws include any of these three words. 1pm // Border’s [100 Broadway] // Free As we mentioned a few weeks ago, Tim Gunn will be reading from......

Myspace.com/heresthethingcomedy is Sean O'Connor , Nick Maritato , and Andrew Wright . You're going to be hearing those names a lot starting February 6th when their show makes its debut at The People's Improv Theater. I first saw Mike Daisey at The People's Improv Theater at a live recording of The Sound of Young America. I didn't know what he was going to talk about, but, in retrospect, it seems like he could talk about anything and it would still be interesting, funny, intelligent, and insightful. His latest monologue Invincible Summer will run at the The Public Theater January 18th through the 28th. Who are some storytellers, famous or otherwise,......

Michael Showalter has joined the faculty of the Peoples Improv Theater. The PIT is home of the most prestigious professional comedy writing program in the country and has added him as one of the four new teachers to their faculty. Showalter, who we all know from “The Baxter" (which we loved) and “Stella” (which we just weren't that into), will offer a 6-week course on “Writing a Comedy Screenplay” starting on March 20. The course......

ART: For The Garden of Unearthly Delights, Gary Baseman taps into the id, the psyche of primitive impulses. Influenced by “The Garden of Earthly Delights”, a renaissance masterpiece by Hieronymous Bosch, Baseman creates what he calls "pervasive art". He uses both the channels of mass media TV, Film, Print, and fine art. [Right: Anita 11" x 8.5" Ephemera, mixed media] September 10th through October 8th // Tuesday through Saturday, 11am to 6pm // Jonathan LeVine......

In honor of Administrative Professional’s (a.k.a. Those Who IM and Google to Help Ease Their Pain) Day, let’s discuss the peculiarity of a certain brand of officemate. We all work with her. The girl that’s not all there and you can’t quite put your finger on why no one calls her out on taking three hour lunches or having mysterious doctor’s appointments every other day. She is clearly a little bit crazy but no one......
