Giving Proper Credit to CBS 2 and Scott Weinberger Scott Weinberger's exclusive reports this week on security guards sleeping like Homer Simpson at the Peach Bottom Nuclear Plant just outside of Philadelphia were an eye opener, since a major catastrophic event there could have its effects felt over a hundred miles away. Plus the same company, Wackenhut, is also under contract to the federal government to provide security. Thanks to Weinberger's three month investigation and......

New Anchor, Same Old Tardiness There must be something about the morning shift at WABC. After just four days on the job as the permanent replacement for Steve Bartelstein, Ken Rosato, overslept and was late for the 5 a.m. edition of Eyewitness News. We think it is pretty safe to assume that he just overslept, since he probably hasn’t adjusted his body clock fully to the new hours, and that he wasn’t spending the night......

A few weeks ago someone told us that there were cats performing in midtown. We immediately pictured a cat parade marching down 42nd Street and performing circus tricks. Apparently, we weren't that far off. The Moscow Cat Theater is here! They're returning for a 2nd run in New York. We went to the first performances back in October. The tickets are a little pricey, but think about it...this is the only entertainment of its kind......

CBS News announced that Dan Rather will give his last evening news broadcast in March 2005. At 73, Rather has had a long and storied career, which was recently marred by the whole Bush National Guard incident. Yesterday's Jim Rutenberg piece about CBS trying to land the Jessica Lynch interview by flexing its synergies with in the Viacom family (MTV, Simon & Schuster) was pretty disturbing, but not that surprising, given the incestuous nature of the media industries. The Times based much of its article on a letter that CBS sent Lynch's representatives, which, Rutenberg writes, causes "among critics about the independence of news divisions owned by media giants." The letter from......
