Taking a look at techno

It is the music heard on almost every car commercial. It is the background music on radio stations. And many still claim to hate it.
It’s techno, and I love it.
That’s why I have decided to rate the top ten best techno songs and the top ten best techno CDs ever.
First of all, I’ll start with the best techno CDs.
10. Electronica’s Best — OK, so it is a compilation of songs, but no one will ever find a better compilation of songs than the ones on this CD. Here you will find Fat Boy Slim, Underworld, BT and Keoki.
9. The Symbols CD by KMFDM — This German band made a breakthrough with this CD. The CD was their first real attempt at hard techno music and it turned out pretty well. “Megalomaniac” and “Leid Und Elend” are my favorites.
8. Dubnobasswithmyheadman by Underworld — Unbelievable sounds came off this CD. Underworld is truly ahead of their time. Even though the lyrics may not make sense, they fit right in with the music.
7. Music for the Jilted Generation by Prodigy — I really have to say there is a part in “Voodoo People” that gives me chills everytime I hear it. Even though the CD is several years old, it sounds like something that could have come out today.
6. Hackers Soundtrack- This is a great compilation of songs. Prodigy is on the CD, of course, but Underworld’s “Cowgirl” and Orbital’s “Halycon and On and On” definitely rule the CD. Leftfield also makes a good contribution.
5. The Fragile by Nine Inch Nails — Trent Reznor strays away from the normal Nine Inch Nails sound towards something a little more techno oriented. The song “Compilation” is entirely techno, and it works. Never have I heard such a unique blend of instruments and electronic music.
4. Adios by KMFDM — Thank you KMFDM for doing an amazing techno CD. The band says goodbye with this CD even though they recently came back under a new name MDFMK. The CD features both hard and soft techno and even what is known as “Goth” techno in “Full Worm Garden.”
3. The Matrix Soundtrack — Buy it! The big names on the CD, include Rob Zombie, Prodigy, Marilyn Manson, Ministry and Rage Against the Machine. The CD blends techno with heavy metal into a wonderful soundtrack. Whoever loved the movie should buy the CD.
2. Fat of the Land by Prodigy — Prodigy’s CDs get better and better as they come out. “Breathe” and “Firestarter” are the famous songs off this CD, but there are several others that will really make people rave.
And the number one CD is:
Beaucoup Fish by Underworld — Stop looking for the greatest techno CD ever because I found it. The songs take my breath away and leave me singing a long time after I turn off the stereo. The heavy bass in the songs makes me dance and the emotional lyrics bring tears to my eyes. What else can I say about Underworld that I have not said; it’s just unbelievable.
Finally, here is my list of the top ten best techno songs ever.
10. Prime Audio Soup by Meat Beat Manifesto
9. Leave You Far Behind by Lunatic Calm
8. Full Worm Garden by KMFDM
7. Halycon and On and On by Orbital
6. Flaming June by BT
5. Leid Und Elend by KMFDM
4. 8 Ball by Underworld
3. Breathe by Prodigy
2. The Perfect Drug by Nine Inch Nails
1. Pearl’s Girl by Underworld
