A driver for a private garbage trucking company was charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide. Police say that Auvryn Scarlett lost control of his truck on West 35th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues Tuesday night, fatally hitting a couple and injuring a man; they believe Scarlett had a seizure and note he recently stopped taking his seizure medication. Last night, a private garbage truck jumped a curbed, hitting and killing two pedestrians on West 35th Street near 6th Avenue in Manhattan. The truck driver suffered a heart attack, losing control of the truck. A police source told the News, "He traveled along the sidewalk taking out lampposts, signs, storefront." The truck first hit a woman, who the Post reports was "killed instantly." The News reports that a 48-year-old man died at Bellevue Hospital......

Good news about the man who was found in respiratory distress while suspended from the ceiling at a Midtown S&M; club on Friday. The 60-something retired math professor from Montreal woke up yesterday, but he didn't remember the incident. His wife didn't realize what had happened (she was still in Montreal) and told the Post reporter, who relayed the story, "Oh my gosh, I can't believe this." The desperate antics of old-school Hell's Kitchen residents are still making news. James O'Hare and David Daloia were arraigned for forgery, petty larceny and other charges when they tried to cash in O'Hare's roommate's Social Security check - while O'Hare's dead roommate's body was in a chair outside the checking cashing place. Fox 5 reports that a man was burned in the chemical explosion and 700 people have been evacuated. The family and friend of the Minnesota tourist who took a fatal plunge from a Midtown hotel this past weekend are saying her death is not a suicide. Three men were stabbed during a fight at a Midtown parking garage early Sunday morning. They were apparently in town for a birthday celebration at Mars 2112, but got into an argument with another group, made up of at least five men and two women, while waiting for their car at the Central Parking Corp at 810 Seventh Avenue.
