Inside the Middle East follows U.S. President George W. Bush on his recent tour of the region to get a feel for how the local people reacted. We also meet an Egyptian director at the Cairo International Film Festival and meet the fearless female Saudi journalist who is tackling issues at odds with the Kingdom's conservatives.

About the show

"Inside the Middle East" focuses on the economic, social and cultural affairs of the Middle East. Hosted by Hala Gorani, the half-hour monthly program takes viewers on a voyage of discovery, traveling to some of the region's most fascinating places: desertscapes, forgotten cities, underwater adventures, ancient civilizations and bustling modern cities. "Inside the Middle East" showcases the beauty and complexity of this often misunderstood region.
